Ashley held Aiden’s cell phone in her hand, almost crushing it with the tightness of her grip. She could feel herself shaking slightly as she re-read the text message she had just opened on it. She heard the door to her bedroom being pushed open and she swung her body around quickly and came face to face with Aiden. He immediately saw the phone in her hands and stared at her intently.
“So, it’s true?” Ashley stared at Aiden as he sat down on the edge of her bed and put his head in his hands. He rubbed his eyes with his palms and looked straight ahead.
“What do you want me to say Ash?” His voice was quiet and broke slightly as he spoke.
“I want you to fucking well admit it!” Ashley surprised herself with the voracity of her voice.
“Yes.” Aiden’s voice was barely a whisper. Ashley shook her head with disgust as Aiden rubbed his temple anxiously. “I didn’t want you to find out like this.”
“Like this?” Ashley spat out. “Tell me Aiden, when were you planning on bringing this dirty little secret out in the open?”
“Ash, calm down. Please.”
“Don’t tell me to calm down! You have no right to tell me what to do.” Aiden’s expression changed from a look of remorse to one of frustration.
“It’s impossible to talk to you Ashley, so I’m not even going to try right now.” Aiden rose to his feet and began to walk towards the door.

wow…this made me cry…i feel for ashley so much….she is alone….i know how that feels to think you have nobody in the world…..its scary…..i think i agree with jbs10 to some degree…i think ashley needs to learn to lean on herself and stand on her own two feet before she can do anything else….i wouls like to see ash and spence get back together…but that might not be a possibility…call me a romantic, but i think they are just destined to be together….wicked post…loved it…love your story equally as much…pms.
Oh that Justin Timberlake, such words of wisdom! Well. this update was still pretty upsetting…but in a totally good way. You stirred up so many emotions in me which is a sign of a good story. Aiden and Ashley: I think you said in one of your comments that there has always been something between them and I agree with you to an extent. I think their biggest issues was that there was no real closure when they broke up the first time in high school. She got pregant, lost the baby, and then that’s all there was for them. Not a real ending to their relationship so they were always going to be wondering what if. Which is why, in your story, Ashley chose Aiden. But I don’t think they would ever be happy together long term. Aiden would never be able to make Ashley happy; I just can’t believe it took them four years to figure that out. I think they were only meant to be friends after everything they went through. It’s too bad she had to break Spencer’s heart in the process. So next Spencer and Ashley: That scene in Spencer’s room where she told Ashley that she broke her heart was so sad. Why could Ashley not see how hard it would be for Spencer to watch her with Aiden all the time? It was nice but also upsetting to see Spencer so happy with Paige. She does deserve to be happy but damnit, I miss my Spashley. But I guess now it’s time for Ashley to grow as a person. Maybe her path with still lead her back to Spencer. I really, really hope so. Sorry my comments have been so long but the whole Ashden story from season 2 majorly upset me as a Spashley lover. I really love what you’re writing so far.

I really like your story. I do think Paige and Spencer are sweet together, but I still await Spencer and Ashley being back together, I still don’t think Spencer’s over her, just wonder what it will take for her to realize that and to trust Ashley enough to not think she’ll break her heart again.

It’s amazing how the rest of the world fell away as I got caught up in this beautifully written story. Tears, broken heart, love and lost love…you write it so well. My heart breaks for the two souls that were once merged together as one and now separated and moving on into a new life. I love the long posts and I sooooo looking forward to the next update! Awesome story!
