Staying Out Of Eden
Chapter Two: Fantasies Do Come True
Remember when you were a little kid and you’d imagine what life would be like without adults? Every day would be summer, you’d never have to worry about homework or bedtimes ever again. It’d be a utopia. Well, to tell you the truth, it’s really not all it’s cracked up to be. In fact, it gets old quick. It’d been about a week since Spencer and Ashley had moved in with the young couple, and the brunette especially was growing more and more anxious by the second.
“Spencer… I am so bored.” Ashley spoke, dragging out the words as she flopped onto her back on the queen sized mattress they shared. Spencer had been lying down, flipping through a book on survival, though the book had fallen closed from the force of Ashley’s collision.
“And your so dramatic.” Mimicked the blonde, rolling her eyes as she set the book aside. Ashley rolled onto her stomach , perching herself on her elbows as she frowned at Spencer.
“We need to do something. I haven’t heard any gunshots in two days.” She spoke, making it obvious her mind was already made. Spencer shifted her eyes to Carrie, who despite being only 8 or so years older than they, had taken on a rather motherly role.
“I don’t think that sounds like a good idea.” The woman spoke, folding towels in the corner. Travis was out sneaking through backyards and stealing propane for their propane tank. All of the electricity and gas had been shut down a while back .Luckily the water still ran and the basement shower was propane heated.
Ashley groaned, her brown eyes glancing towards Spencer, who seemed to look like she agreed with Carrie, “But I’m going to die in here!” She moaned out, her skin practically crawling with energy.
“Well, where would we even go? It’s not like the movie theaters going to be open or anything. And what if we get seen?” The blonde spoke, sitting up slightly. This small basement seemed to be shrinking by the day, and she had to admit that the prospect of getting out was a tempting one.
Ashley was silent a moment, her teeth chewing her bottom lip in thought before her eyes lit up, “The mall! We can go to the mall!”

I have an eerie suspicion that something or someone else is in that mall with them. That would not be good. Like, at all.
