Kennedy: "You’re sure she doesn’t feel it right?"

Buffy: "Sadly no."

Faith: "Buffy I-"

Buffy: "Shut it Faith. Just hand me some more alchohol."

Faith walked out of Spencer’s room and into the kitchen. Willow was stacking ice bags on Paula’s forehead trying to break the fever. Xander sat outside with Arthur and Glen. 

Buffy: "Kennedy, be useful and hold her arm while I put her shoulder back in place."

Kennedy did what she was told. She turned her head to the side as Buffy put Spencer’s shoulder where it should be."

Buffy: "Faith where’s the-"

Faith came back into the room and gave Buffy the alchohol.

Buffy: "Thank you."

Kennedy: "Buffy what are you doing?"

Buffy: "She’ll be fine Kennedy. Why don’t you go and see how her mom is?"

Kennedy reluctantly left Spencer’s bedside. Faith took her place and turned Spencer over on her side. Blood seeped out through a gash that was deep enough to see her ribs. Buffy dabbed a towel with the alchohol and pressed down on the wound.

Faith: "That looks real nasty B."

Buffy: "Faith this is your fault."

Faith: "I know but..I thought maybe Spinner would kill her quicker than you."

Buffy: "Faith I-"

Faith: "Mean all the shit you say."

Buffy: "I didn’t mean it that time. She’s just a kid."

Faith: "Just like those-"

Buffy: "Vampires do not count."

Faith: "Alright. Whatever you say. What do you want me to do? Should I go look for Ashley?"

Buffy: "No. Stay here and make sure she doesn’t die. I’ll go look for them."

Faith: "Whoa Buffy you really shouldn’t-"

Buffy: "I know what I’m doing Faith. Ashley has to die. She’s a murderer, not to mention a rapist."

Faith: "Buffy what happened to Dawn wasn’t your fault."

Buffy looked at Faith with sad eyes.

Buffy: "It doesn’t matter Faith. She’s still buried six feet under….I have to go."

Faith moved some of Spencer’s hair from around her face.  Tears were falling from her closed eyelids. Faith had a bad feeling about it. Before Buffy left she called out to her.

Faith: "Hey B! Are you sure she can’t feel it?"

Buffy: "….See ya later Faith."

The closing of the door meant that she was gone. Faith shrugged off her bad feeling and went to work on Spencer. Kennedy came back in the room as soon as Buffy was gone. She went to the opposite side of Spencer’s bed.

Kennedy: "Is she going to be okay Faith?"

Faith: "Yeah just chill alright?"

Kennedy: "I can’t. What if Buffy gets us all killed-"

Faith: "Shut up Kennedy! Buffy takes damn good care of us so-"

Kennedy: "Okay okay, sorry. I’m just saying, she really shouldn’t go after hard vampires like Charlie and-"

Faith: "Ashley killed Dawn Kennedy. Remember? Buffy’s never been the same since then. You know that."

Kennedy: "I know but she doesn’t need to make other people suffer for her loss."

Faith: "Yeah.."

Kennedy looked at Faith’s hands shake as she finished wrapping up Spencer’s ribs.

Kennedy: "I’m sorry Faith. Buffy doesn’t know that you two were together. Why don’t you tell her?"

Faith: "Because some things just shouldn’t be said Kennedy. I want to torture Ashley for what she did to Dawn. But I bet that stupid vamp doesn’t even remember her."

Kennedy: "Revenge isn’t good Faith."

Faith: "I’m done here. Watch her for me while I check on her mom."

She left the room. After a while Kennedy followed after her. No one was in the room with Spencer as she started to wake up. Buffy planned on this. Buffy knew she couldn’t kill the young blonde for letting Ashley and the others escape, but she could make her suffer for it. Spencer felt everything that Faith did to her. Nothing could describe the pains she felt in her body. But now she knew that the mysterious girl she saw was named Ashley. What she didn’t know was that at this very moment in time, Ashley was whispering Spencer’s name on her lips. The two were silently suffering together and didn’t even know it.
