The Bluest Light – (Chapter: Mind Games)

Spencer had gotten completely ready for another day at the beach and Ashley was still in bed sleeping.  Reluctantly, she walked over to the bed and sat on the edge.  She looked down at Ashley, her lips were curled into a smile, her brown curls were falling across her face and her chest was rising and falling in a melodic rhythm.  Spencer swore she had never seen anyone so beautiful.  ‘Here goes nothing’ she thought to herself.  And with that, laid her hand on Ashley shoulder and gently nudged her cooing, “Ash, time to wake up.”

Ashley continued sleeping, so Spencer nudged her a little hard and spoke a little louder, “Come on Ash, wake up sleepy head.”

Ashley’s smile faded as she brought the covers up over her head and mumbled, “I was have a great dream, why’d you wake me?”

“I hope it didn’t involve my cousin,” Spencer regrettably spat out.  ‘Where the hell did that come from?’

Ashley lowered the covers once again, smiled and shook her head, “Nope.  Definitely not about your cousin.  You cranky this morning, Spence?”

‘Not about my cousin, huh?  Well that’s good.  Maybe she was dreaming about me.  Alright girl, you’ve officially lost your mind.’

“Sorry.  I guess I didn’t really sleep that well.” ‘Oh, except for the 6 hours you held me.’

“Really?  Last night was probably the best sleep I’ve had in ages.  This bed is comfy as hell!  I kinda don’t want to even get out of it!”

‘What?  Did she really just say that?  Breathe, breathe.  What is she getting at?  Does she even remember last night?  Oh my god, she probably has no clue.  Keep your mouth shut, Spence, shut!’

Ashley slowly swung her feet off the bed and planted them on the floor.  She sat there, just looking at Spence for a second, before standing up and stretching her hands over her head.  “Beach today, Spence?”
