“So I was your rebound?” She says, still sounding angry.

“No you weren’t my rebound at all. I’m trying to be honest with you but it’s hard when you’re still going to be upset no matter what.”

“Can you really blame me?” She says looking straight ahead of her again, waving her arms to help get her point across. “I just found out that my girlfriend, the girl I’ve been dating for over a month still has feelings for some girl she never dated before she met me. That’s fucked up Spence.” I was really getting sick and tired of her pointing out the obvious.

“Yeah it is fucked up and I know that, but you don’t know what I went through before I met you and all the fucked up shit Ashley pulled on me. It was a fucked up situation and when I met you I saw an escape. I thought I would be able to have the feelings I felt for Ashley for you.”

“Yeah, well how did that go for you?” She says sarcastically.

I let out a dramatic sigh and look up at the roof of the car as I was nearing my wits end with her. I look back down at her. “Oh my God Carmen will you just fucking listen to me? I’m trying to tell you everything.”

Her eyes narrow as she glares at me. “Well it’s a little too late for that, don’t you think? And why should I listen to you when you never wanted to be with me in the first place?”

“I did want to be with you Carmen. That was never a question. If I didn’t want to be with you then I never would’ve agreed to dating you.”

“Yeah well I wish you didn’t.” She says softly. I’m taken aback by this slightly as her words sink in. I know I fucked up but I didn’t think I deserved that harsh of a comment. “Just get out.” I hear Carmen say in almost a whisper as she looks towards the floor of the car. I stay frozen for a moment and try to tell if she’s serious. “Get the fuck out of my car Spencer.” She says a little louder, but surprisingly calm. I slowly open the door and walk away towards my dorm room without looking back.
