The King High Killer – (Chapter: Chapter 9 Nine, Blood Will Flow Like Wine)
“Why didn’t you two pick up the phone?” The burly deputy asked softly, not wanting to startle the brunette. Ashley thought back to the ringing sound she had heard and dismissed. He went on to explain that they had repaired the phone lines once they arrived on scene and called Arthur’s phone line in his office to check on the girls. When they didn’t get a response, they entered simultaneously through both entrances of the diner to find it empty and proceeded to the basement.
Still staring at Spencer’s back as she watched the paramedics work on her father, Ashley felt as though she was listening to everyone speak to her underwater. Everything was so jumbled and confusing and she had no idea how to fix her liquefied brain.
She had never been so relieved in her life, yet felt so much loss. As she answered questioned with “uh’s” and “um’s” not even paying attention to what anyone was saying, she was silently begging Spencer to turn around so she could gauge her reaction.
“Ashley?” Tom asked, placing a soft hand on her forearm to get her attention. Ashley pulled her gaze away from the blonde’s back to meet his eye. “Are you okay?” The brunette swallowed hard and nodded a few times as she took in everyone around her, pens poised over small notebooks as they waited for her to recall all the events that took place at the diner.
Suddenly Spencer dove into her father’s office and a moment later Arthur was being wheeled out on a stretcher, his eyes magically opened and his hand holding a sobbing Spencer’s. Ashley watched as they moved through the basement and then disappeared up the steps and she felt more relief knowing Arthur was okay but a hollow sensation form because Spencer didn’t even look at her once.
Soon she was being led upstairs and out of the kitchen into the dining area where she found Marie and Glen, their arms tightly around a crying Spencer, and outside Arthur Carlin being put into an ambulance.
“Tom! What’s going on?!” Marie frantically asked the young deputy as he appeared along with Ashley.
“He wasn’t here. We took the surveillance tapes so we should no more soon. The basement was a mess but both girls say the intruder never got down there.” He cleared his throat loudly and Ashley caught the tail end of his statement and looked up at him to see him staring back at her. She felt her face redden as he averted his gaze and she knew that he was covering for her. The mess in the basement—that was all Ashley and Spencer’s doing in their fight and then passion.

ok so you had me practically crying one minute with their declarations of love for each other, and then pissed off the next when spence didn’t jump in to tell ash that she meant what she said! arrgghhhh! anyway I digress. this whole chap was freaking awesome, ash climbing through vents, their fight that turned totally hot, even their little agreement about fooling around (although damn I wish they’d just tell each other they love each other and make the other realize they mean it!!), everything! so is carmen dead? guess we’ll find out soon enough. excellent update stix, very much worth the wait! pms please!!
Ok, I liked: 1. Spencer using “for sure” on Ashley, that was very telling. 2. Ninja Ashley ;) no further explanation needed for that. 3. The reference to “Murder, She Wrote.” 4. Declarations of love. 5. Making out while on the brink of certain death … hot. 6. the “fooling around” clause. I DID NOT like: 1. rat poop … eww 2. taking back the declarations of love 3. constant interruptions to the girls making out 4. Carmen. Oh and p.s LOVED the birthday greeting. Thanks sweetie.
De-lurking to say I love this story. PMS!!
This is a good story and I hope you can continue on with it. I like how they are mad one minute and then all heated up the next. Its hot to do that sometimes.
fuck. okay soooo one sec i’m like shittng bricks scared that they are about to die. then the next i’m pissed cuz theyre back to oh i hate you. and spencer seriously needs to fucking chill with the “i’m gonna be alone and deal with shit on my own” cuz isn’t that how her and ashley stopped being friends in the first place. i’m sorry but i would have left carmen walking by her damnself. and i don’t give a fuck what anyone says, i think the killer is(…) but seriously is carmen and lily dead cuz even though i don’t like carmen and lily is ok, it would suck if they’re dead and spence and ash missed it cuz they can’t keep their hands off each other. so that was an awesome chapter, i got super excited when i saw it there then i started yelling at the computer like they could really hear me, but anywho awesome chapter, can not wait for more cuz this story is hella badass. keep up the good work. pms
What an emotional roller coaster that was! freakin brilliant :) of course I knew they were going to be interrupted- but i was pleasantly surprised by how far they’d gotten. I’m not sure why neither one is capable of owning their confessions of love, but I do know that love makes you do and say stupid shit so I’ll chock it up to that for now :)
OMGGGGGG!!!!! Okay please PMS like NOW! This story is amazing I want more!
