I didn’t pursue them, though that did get me into trouble.

“How dare you let one of my best soldiers leave like that?!” Maria shrieked.

“I couldn’t just hunt them down like animals. What did you want me to do when I caught up?”

“Destroy the girl and capture Peter!”

“I would never attack my friend!”

I calmed her down suddenly, but then let go when I knew she didn’t need it anymore. She glared at me, and then suddenly, I felt her emotion change to lust. 

“You know what, I forgive you,” she whispered.

I turned and opened the door, but she grabbed my waist.

“Let go of me,” I said.

She twisted me around to face her. 

“I said, let go of me.”

I really didn’t want to hurt her, but I didn’t think I had any other choice.

“Come on, Jasper,” she murmured, trying to be seductive.

I ripped out of her grasp and walked out the door.
