The Perfect Girl – (Chapter: Asking Ashley Davies Out…)

    Ch.4
Spencer couldn’t concentrate in the rest of her classes the entire day. She drew aimlessly in her notebook, contemplating how she was going to ask Ashley Davies, of all people, to Sadies. She had to do it perfectly; any mistakes would most likely lead to ridicule and rejection. But how was she going to ask her out? Flowers? No…too overused. Spencer scrawled a note down on a corner of her notebook paper and tore it off, handing it to Chelsea, who sat in front of her. How do I ask ASHLEY OUT?! the note read. Chelsea sighed and wrote back, handing the note back to Spencer. I don’t know…try to incorporate something she likes into the whole thing when you ask her out… Spencer furrowed her brow and bit the corner of her lip as she thought about Ashley’s interests: partying, playing her guitar and singing, playing softball, boys…and girls. Suddenly an idea came to Spencer. “THANKS CHELSEA! YOU’RE THE BEST!” she exclaimed, standing up and hugging Chelsea right in the middle of her history class. The history teacher raised an eyebrow at Spencer and Chelsea. “Spence…um…you can let go of me now.” Chelsea said, struggling to breathe in Spencer’s bear hug. The entire class snickered. “Oh…um…sorry guys. Sorry Ms. Chamberlain.” Spencer said, blushing as she made her way back to her seat. Nevertheless, she had a smile on her face the entire day as she formulated her strategy on asking Ashley out. Spencer was sure that Ashley had a big game tomorrow…
That night, Spencer called her friends to recruit them into hatching her scheme. She and Chelsea stayed up late to finish designing the things that they would need in order to ask Ashley tomorrow. Spencer could barely sleep that night, and kept waking up Chelsea almost every other minute to tell her how excited she was and how she prayed that Ashley would say yes. “Spence…if you wake me up… one more time about Ashley Davies, I’m going to tell her myself to turn you down.” Chelsea groaned. “She’s SO PERFECT, CHELS!” Spencer squealed for the millionth time. “She had that sexy, freaking brilliantly white smile that makes you want to go blind…and her body….mmm…” “Spencer…go to sleep and please don’t do anything freaky while thinking about Ashley as long as I’m still in your house.” Chelsea grumbled, throwing a pillow at her best friend. “…And she’s funny, smart, sweet, nice, and she can play guitar, and she can sing, and…” “SPENCER! GO TO SLEEP!” Chelsea cried, stuffing a pillow on either side of her head in an attempt to tune out Spencer’s continuous Ashley rant.
