The Slayer Chronicles: Episode 1 – (Chapter: 3 – Her story)
Kennedy looks around the room with interest. There isn’t much that could qualify as furniture and what is there is sporadically placed around the room as if someone had just picked it up and set it down wherever they wanted. A chair sits facing a wall and end tables are placed several feet away from the obvious places to sit. There are two bookshelves along one wall and a rather large stereo against another. Kennedy walks over to the bookshelves to see what kind of books a blind slayer would read. Braille, of course, but titles and authors even Kennedy didn’t dare attempt to read. Tolstoy, Neitsche, Wilder, and…. Anne Rice. “Oh yeah, she’s meant to be a slayer,” Kennedy thinks to herself. “Nice place,” she directs towards Sasha.
“Thanks. I know it’s kinda sparse, but I don’t need much. And I’m not here very often anyway. Please, sit down.”
“Thanks,” the three mutter as they squeeze onto a small couch that happens to be facing into the room.
“Would any of you like something to drink? I’m afraid I only have water and Diet Mountain Dew.”
“Dew for me, thanks.” Pipes up Kennedy knowing the caffeine will be needed.
“Oh…umm…. water for me,” stutters Willow.
“And for you Dawn?”
“Water please.”
The three of them watch Sasha walk through the apartment as if she knows exactly where everything is located. The kitchen lay open to their view and they observe her getting the glasses and drinks without hesitating. Kennedy lightly elbows Willow; “Do you see that?” She whispers.
“Yeah,” Willow whispers back.
Sasha returns carrying the three glasses and stops in front of them. “Dawn and Willow had water…” she says extended the triangle of glasses towards Dawn and then Willow. “And Kennedy.”
“How did you do that?” Kennedy asks with amazement.
“Do what?”
“How did you know exactly where each of us was sitting and which glass to hand to us?” asks an excited Willow.
“Well, the glass part was easy… I just remembered what order I put them in. The other part… well… the other part is harder to explain.”
“Try us,” says an intrigued Dawn.
Sasha walks over to the chair that sits facing the wall, drags it in front of the three women, and sits down. “It all started about a week ago…,” she begins.
