NO ONES POV

Ashley walked downstairs wondering what the heck Spencer’s parents wanted to talk about.  As she steeped into the kitchen she saw Arthur and Paula sitting next to each other at the table.  They motioned for her to sit down.  She sat directly in front of them.  It was a few minutes before Paula finally spoke.

“13 years of being her best friend and NOW you want to be more.” Paula glared at Ashley

“Uh, ive anted more for longer than a couple years.” Ashley stammered

“What do you think that we will allow this to happen!?” Paula now yelling, Arthur next to her hiding his smile from Ashley

Ashley was stunned and didn’t know what to say.

“What you stood up for her earlier why not now?” Paula spat out

“It’s just that well you were okay with it earlier…” now she really was confused

“Maybe that was just a show for Spencer.”

Ashley was getting angry now “Well maybe your being ridicules, maybe you should see how much I care about Spencer, Maybe you should see how much I love her.”

Paula smiled, Ashley still worked up looked at her with a look of disgust “what they hell are you smiling for?”

“You passed” Ashley raised her eyebrows in question “I just wanted to now if you would stand your ground, but now that you did” Paula looked at Arthur “we need to talk about this baby issue.”

“Why just me, why not Spencer too.”

“Because it’s a matter that deals directly with you, since you want to stand by her; like are you sure you can handle this, you won’t run off after she starts depending on you, getting really close to you?”

Arthur cut in, “I think we all know that aiden is not reliable, I doubt we will even ever see him again, and I partly blame myself for this because I should have protected her better, so if you want to be in her life you have to promise us that you won’t hurt her, you’ll be good for her and her child.”

“I will Mr.C, I promise, I want to be there for her.”

“Good and Ashely tell Spencer that even though she is pregnant we may be sidappointed but we love her and support her okay?”
