Time Doesn’t Exist. Clocks Exist. – (Chapter: Ch.18: Spencer, Meet the Lake)

No. She wouldn’t let that happen.

Spencer was so deep in her thoughts that the sound of bare feet pattering against the wood dock behind her wasn’t noticed, but a voice still drenched in sleep was.

    “Hey.”

Flipping her blonde head of hair around and twisting her body, she greeted her visitor. She didn’t need to do those things though; she would know that voice anywhere.

“Hey you,” Small smiles were exchanged as if to say ‘Thank You’ and ‘Your Welcome’ for last night. Spencer saw in her eyes that Ashley didn’t want to talk about it, so she respected her wishes, understanding that whatever was said was to stay in that moment.

“May I?” A tan hand gestured to an empty spot on the edge.

A paler one answered in reply, patting the space as if readying it for the girl’s arrival.

Being even shorter than Spencer, Ashley’s toes barely graced the water, even though she was as far as she sit on the dock without risking an unwelcomed bath. She tried though, swinging her legs back and forth, lucky if one or two swings skimmed the top just slightly.

Spencer couldn’t help but let out a tiny laugh; the sight was too adorable not to. Looking to her right to see what was so funny, the brunette realized what the source of the girl’s laughter was and promptly bumped her shoulder and top of her arm into Spencer’s.

The blonde put on a face of mock innocence as she inquired, “What? Me?”

“Shut up, you’re not much taller you know,” Ashley muttered with a slight smile she couldn’t quite hold in.

Spencer let out a chuckle, “I know. It was just cute, that’s all.”

Taking advantage of the moment she had just been given, Ashley let her hand slowly crawl over to Spencer’s resting a few inches away. At first she just let her pinky glide up and down the soft skin of the blonde’s thumb, but then gradually she let the rest of her fingers move forward as well, ending up with her entire hand tracing up and down Spencer’s. The shiver that ran through the taller girl’s body did not go unnoticed by the pursuer.

Taking her other hand and painfully slowly tucking strands of yellow hair out of the way, the brunette leaned forward until her lips were almost touching the blonde’s ear and huskily whispered, “So, you think I’m cute?”

    1. This story just makes my heart ache. All I have to do is see the title of the story and it makes me sad because I don’t want Ashley to die. Stupid Aiden, ruining things again. I really hope they figure out a way to be together soon. I love this story so much.
