Ashley made her way through the aisle’s of books she so rarely walked through, she had an art project to work on and although she had space at home, she felt like getting out of the house, there had been a lot of fighting between her and her mom and she just needed an escape. She turned the corner heading towards the more secluded area of the library where the large tables were set up which people usually used for large projects such as the one she had been assigned. She absentmindedly walked towards the far right corner lost in her thoughts, while looking down watching her own steps, but nothing could prepare her for what she saw next.

      She heard the scribble of a pen and her eyes darted up only to be met by the sight of her beautiful blond haired, blue eyed, former friend. Her heart began to race and she momentarily thought of spinning on her heel and sitting at another table, but she was not about to give the blond the satisfaction of knowing she had caused such a reaction after it being so many months since they had gotten into the ridiculous argument which ended their friendship.

      She made her final decision and decided to sit at the opposite corner of the table and after setting down the large piece of poster board she was to complete her drawing on, she began to sketch. She couldn’t help but watch the blonde through the side of her vision and wonder why she was staring at her blatantly with no fear of being caught, but nonetheless she was angry that she had such nerve, after all it had been her fault that they were no longer friends, still she felt a tinge of hope somewhere in the back of her mind. Not too much time had passed, when suddenly, she began to sing. Ashley was somewhat startled by her actions but remained on the outside, emotionless and seemingly focused on her work.

      "Do you hear me? I’m talking to you"

      Ashley smiled inwardly upon hearing the familiar tune coming from the blonde’s lips.

      "Across the water across the deep blue ocean"

      The slowed pace of her singing and the emphasis on pausing did not go unnoticed by the brunette, but she tried to pretend she hadn’t the slightest clue what the blonde was doing.
