Ashley found walking towards Spencer’s house. When she
realized that she walked in the opposite direction. She
was staring at her feet when she heard a fight.
She looked up and saw three guys beating up on
one girl and another guy. The girl was getting it
pretty bad. The guy was about to pass out. Ashley
didn’t know what to do.That’s when a police car rolled
up. The police officer called out the window.

Officer:"WE GOT A PROBLEM HERE!?"

The guys walked away.

Officer:"You kids all right?"

Girl:"Yes sir. We were just getting our
asses kicked for fun."

Officer:"Alright then."

The officer drove away. The guy sat down on the sidewalk.
The girl looked over at Ashley.

Girl:"Well,were you going to help?"

Ashley:"What was I supposed to do? I mean-"

Girl:"One black girl,a white guy,and a gang of white
people start kicking your ass. What do you do?"

Ashley:"Dude! What did I do to you?"

Guy:"June,leave her alone. She was going to help."

June:"Yeah sure she was. You know what this city can shove it!"

She got up. The guy sat there and watched her go.

Guy:"I’m Dawn by the way. I’m sorry about my sister.She
has a terrible temperment."

Ashley:"I can see-"

June:"Dawn get off your ass and let’s go."

Dawn:"I gotta go. I’ll see you later…."

Ashley:"Wait! Don’t you need any help?"

June:"Not from you."

Dawn got up and limped to his sister.
Ashley walked back to the park.

Ashley got to the park and saw Kyla laughing at
Aiden who was being chased by a squirrel.

Kyla:"Ashley! Aiden is so funny. He took a nut from this
squirrel right then he-what’s wrong?"

Ashley:"I just saw something really messed up."

Ashley told Kyla about the fight she witnessed.
When she was done Kyla looked kinda shaken.

Kyla:"That happened here?"

Ashley:"Yeah…the girl looked really scared."

Kyla:"Aiden! Leave that squirrel alone!"

Aiden stopped running and threw a acorn to the ground.

Aiden:"What’s up?"

Ashley retold the story. Aiden had the same reaction as
Kyla.

Aiden:"That happened here?"

Ashley:"Right around the corner."

Aiden:"That’s messed up."

Ashley:"Then the girl got really mad at me. Like I was
supposed to jump in and do something about it."

Kyla:"Well Ash were you?"

Ashley:"I would’ve but when I got there the police car rolled by."

Aiden:"Sure."

Ashley:"What’s that supposed to mean?"

Aiden:"Well,you’re not the most…uhhh…protective person."

Ashley:"I don’t need this."

Ashley got up and walked away.
