Why Superman Could Never Find a Phone Book – (Chapter: 36: Intimate Projection)

“I’m weak? I’m weak? I’m not the one cutting myself up like a turkey and shoving pills down my throat so I don’t have to face my pathetic life!”

Ashley stood a step forward, her hand clenched into a fist, her lips pinched together. Spencer moved closer to her, the heat from Ashley’s body spreading over Spencer in waves. She leaned forward, her nose inches from Ashley’s, their waists almost touching

“At least my parents didn’t die…to get away from me.”

Her vision faded, as tiny dots and lines began twinkling within her vision, a thick throb pulsating against her cheek. She stumbled back, the force of Ashley’s blow knocking her feet from under her.

Spencer looked up, the taste of copper invading her mouth, as Ashley sobbed and held her fist up at Spencer, waiting for the girl to react.

She took a step toward her again, her chest thrust out, snot, tears and blood dripping from her face onto the tile. She was out of breath from the blow, her words erupting in heavy breaths of air.

    “You’re fucking nothing! You’re nothing!”

Ashley’s fist collided with Spencer’s gut, the wind forced from her lungs, as she dropped to one knee, her fury still raging, each utterance encased in all the pain and self-loathing she could stand.

“No one cares! Not Aiden! Your parents! No one! You’re shit! Fucking nothing! Nothing!”

The words erupted like wildfire, spitting out from her lips with saliva and blood, Ashley’s hand slapping her face like a jackhammer, Spencer’s head jerking from side to side with each striking blow, her teeth clanging together, her head splitting in two.

Ashley’s blows are dealt blindly, a thick curtain of haze separating her from Spencer, disallowing her access to the mutilation her fists and palms were causing, her mind possibly focused on her father, as she beat him over the head with a whiskey bottle, his skull cracking and brain matter spilling out onto some dingy apartment’s stained green carpet.

Spencer’s words are muffled, her mouth filled with bile and blood, begging for Ashley to hit her, again and again, until her hand is tired and her chest is thick with strain.

“Just hit me! Hit me! Hit. Me.”

    1. Ok so I think I just let out my first real breath. That was absolutely amazing. It good to see all of this finally coming together. I have to admitt I still really don’t undertand Aiden’s “role” is this, if you call it. But it’s stil amazing none the less. But I want to know why it has to be like this! And what had to be like this? Why did Ashley literally have to kick the shit out of Spencer?? Please post again soon.

All of it. The day I killed that bird when we were down by the creek, it all changed! You killed it! Just like my parents, goddamn Madison, Aiden!”—so does that mean spencer killed the bird and not ash…?
