    Romantic dinners and unexpected shocks

    The brunette smiled. “You’ll see.”

    Minutes later, Spencer nearly squealed in delight when she smelled salt in the air and noticed a significant amount of seagulls circling over head. As they neared their destination, more and more people in bathing suits milled about the streets while venders and performers gathered crowds around them.

    They pulled into the parking lot and got out of the car. Ashley pulled out a blanket from the trunk and they began walking towards the shore, fingers laced together while their hands swung between them. The beach sand was soft beneath their shoes and the ocean was calm as they found a spot and the brunette rolled out the blanket. She sat down and patted the empty space in front of her which Spencer sat in happily.

    “So, how’s the day so far?” Ashley asked as she wrapped her arms around Spencer’s waist.

    The blonde turned her head and kissed her girlfriend on the temple softly. “Absolutely perfect. I couldn’t ask for anything more romantic.”

    “Well romantic was what I was going for.”

    “How did you get Rogers to let you set up in front of the school?”

    “I’m very persuasive.” She responded. Spencer turned and looked at her with a raised eyebrow. “Ok so maybe a little cajoling was involved… and a promise to go the rest of the year without missing class or getting in late.”

    “Wow. That’s quite the commitment.”

    “Oh come on, I can totally do it. If Ashley Davies makes a promise, she sticks to it.”

    “And apparently Ashley Davies talks in the third person too.”

    “Ashley Davies doesn’t appreciate your comment.” She said as she tickled her girl for a few seconds.

    Spencer laughed and grabbed Ashley’s hands, effectively stilling them until she could regain her breath. “Well,” Her eyes staring intently in earth-brown irises, “does Ashley Davies appreciate this?” She brushed her lips against the brunette’s before pressing more firmly against them.

    A satisfied sigh escaped from Ashley as she tilted her head and deepened the kiss, her hands slipped beneath Spencer’s shirt and her fingers scratched lightly at the girl’s stomach, making the blonde smile and bite down on her lower lip softly.

    They stayed like that for hours on end, languidly kissing on the beach as the waves rolled in or talking and laughing only to lock lips again as the sun began to set over the water. It reflected off of their skin, making them glow more than usual when they were around each other.
