You Don't Know Me – (Chapter: All I Have For Now)

“I have to get home.” I tell Ashley closing my phone.

“Are you in trouble?” I nod my head yes. She leans back over and kisses my cheek. “I’m sorry.”

“It’s fine.” She’s still inches away from my face.

“Are we?” I turn my head to look at her and our noses touch.

“I don’t know.” She kisses me when the words leave my mouth. Making me want to take them back and tell her yes. But I don’t. I can’t.

“OK.” Ashley says and I start the car.

“Where do you live, I know It has to be not that far from the bus stop.” I say pulling out of Pop Mills parking lot.

“Just drop me off at the bus stop.” I take a glance at her then turn my eyes back at the road.

“I can take you home. It’s to dark for you to be walking.” She moves around in her seat, trying to get comfortable.

“I’m fine. Just drop me off at the bus stop.” I don’t try to argue with her, it’s pointless and it takes up to much time, time I don’t have.

We get to the bus stop ten minutes later. She starts to open her door to get out but then stops and looks over at me.

“Can I get a goodnight kiss?” I lean over and give her a peck one the lips. “Can I ask you a question?” I look at my watch then back at her. I’m already late, why not. Late is late.

“Yeah, sure,” She takes one of my hands and starts playing with it.

“Don’t take this the wrong way but if you say you’re not that girl that goes around kissing and hugging and stuff. Then why are you doing it with me?” I don’t even have to think about what she just asked me. I already know that answer. It’s the same reason she wants to keep things going between us. It can lead to so much more.

“Because I didn’t think this, is all it was going to between us. Just kisses and stuff. I thought that soon we’d have a title… be defined. But I guess I was wrong. That’s not what you want.” I say looking out of my window.

“I didn’t say that. I said that this is all I can give right now.” Ashley says turning my face around to look at her. My phone starts to ring and I pick up and say I’m on my way and shut it.

“I really have to go.” She gives me a soft kiss on the lips.

“Will I be able to kiss you next time I see you?” I give her a kiss that last for about a minute.

“I don’t know. I have to think about it.” She nods her head and gets out of the car. I drive away thinking about how I should be driving away from her house not a bus stop. I wonder why she want let me drive her home. I also think about what she said about just letting things happen between us. I know I’m probably getting grounded when I get home but at least it will give me time to think. And I have more then enough to think about.
