Chapter 54 Montauk part two

Tina and Angelica leave at about 5:15 to meet Bette at the station. There is a bit of traffic on the road, but not too heavy. Bette calls as Tina is pulling into the station.

Bette: Hey I’m here, are you parked? I’ll just walk over and meet you.

Tina: Actually we just pulled into the station.

Bette: Oh, I see you. Do you see me waving?

Tina: I do. Your hair what did you do?

Bette: Its called hair cut Tina.

Bette ends their conversation with a chuckle and heads to the car. She walks around to the drivers side and leans in to give Tina a quick kiss.

Bette: Hey T. Open the back door for me.

Tina hits the power unlock and Bette opens the driver side rear door.

Angelica: Momma!  She holds her arms out for a hug.

Bette: Hey Boo. Momma missed you too. I’m going to sit here in the back with you, OK?

Angelica: Momma here?

Bette: Yes I’m here baby.

Tina pulls off and heads back to the house. Bette and Angelica have a “deep conversation” about her play date at the beach.

Angelica: Mi-no Momma, fun. Crab. Fish.

Bette: Hmm, is the translation we saw minnows and crabs at the beach?

Tina: Pretty much. Amy had a couple of nets and the girls were able to fish. They scooped up some minnows and hermit crabs.

Bette: That sounds like fun and maybe something she could do at the pond?

Tina: Hmm, I don’t know the things in the pond are much bigger.

Bette: Yea, you’re right Peggy said the kids actually fish there; she stocks it for them.

Tina: Wow that would explain things. Those kids have a paradise there.

Bette: Are we eating out tonight?

Tina: Nope we are having lasagna and green beans at home.

Angelica: I help Mommy. Pop, pop. Giggle.

Tina: Yup, she was a big help; she popped the green beans.

Bette: Oh wow you are getting to be such a big girl. Why did you cry today and ask for me to play at the beach? Mommy took good care of you and you could play with Bethany.

Angelica: Want Momma play at beach. Momma fun at beach. Make cassel.
