    B&T 9 years after season 1: Bette and Eli’s first full day

    MONDAY MORNING-LA


     

     

    Bette had made sure that she set her alarm for 5:30am, she figured since the Science Center opened at 9am they’d have plenty of time to eat some breakfast go to the market then go to the Center from there. After showering and getting the coffee started she looked into the fridge to see what they could eat for breakfast. As she was sifting through all the leftovers Eli walked in.

     

    Bette: "Hey you’re up early I was going to let you sleep for another half hour."

     

    Eli: "I set the alarm on my phone to make sure I didn’t get up too late." He yawned and rubbed his eyes a little.

     

    Bette: "Why don’t you go wash up and get ready. While I figure out what we’ll have for breakfast." Bette couldn’t help but ruffle his hair, he looked so cute in the morning, he had the same sleepy look in his eyes that Tina did.

     

    Eli: "We can eat after we go to the market."

     

    Bette: "That would probably be best because all we have is leftovers. Okay why don’t we go get ready."

     

    After they both changed they met back in the kitchen.

     

    Bette: "I’ll finish my coffee and you finish your orange juice then we’ll get going."

     

    Eli: "Okay."

     

    Bette: "Do you think we should write out a list first?"

     

    Eli: "That’s what mom usually does but we’re kind of starting from scratch so…"

     

    Bette: "Yeah we’ll just go up and down the aisles and toss in the stuff we need."

     

    Eli: "Sounds like a plan."

     

    Bette: "Okay lets get going."

     

    They drove over to the nearest supermarket and they were making good time.

     

    Bette: "Wow I don’t think I’ve ever been here this early…" Bette was pushing the cart with Eli grinning at her side. "Fine I rarely go to the market but in my defense LA has a lot of good places that deliver takeout and my sister owns a café. A market doesn’t serve much purpose for someone who doesn’t cook."

     

    Eli: "I can teach you how to make some stuff. Mom always had me in the kitchen with her when she was cooking, you know to keep an eye on me. That and she watches cooking shows sometimes. I picked up a few things, and when I was old enough she’d let me help her. Didn’t she ever teach you to cook?"

    10. This is such a great story – I love the interaction you portray between Eli and the girls, especially Eli and Bette. They are just too cute together and I can’t wait to see Tina, Eli and Bette – all three of them together. Can’t wait for more Tori!

However, in my position as protector of Bette, it is my sworn duty to remind the class, in regard to Eli’s comment about not allowing anyone to hurt his mother, that it was Eli and therefore Tina who launched themselves unannounced and..may I say, uninvited, into Bette’s life, and in so doing, who was looking out for her? My work is never done…tsk tsk…

    19. So we don’t even get Bette’s reaction to Tina’s statement about not seeing anyone? She probably sat there with a “duh” look on her face for a few seconds before realization sank in. Maybe I should take Eli with me next time I go to an amusement park. Last time I rode a roller coaster at Paramount’s King’s Island was 2 years ago and before that it was 5 years. I got REALLY old in those 5 years and noticed that I can’t seem to handle those coasters like I could when I was younger, and those aren’t even all that bad.

    20. and Grace and T’s conversation..question:In your story, are T and B married?????? does that make Eli, Bette’s legal son????How come they never got divorced????? is it cuz there was just NO OTHER LOVE???????

Ok one thing Y doesn’t Tina fly down to Disneyland and surprise Eli, it’s his first time there, and Bette’s, and Tina has never been there either, so it’ll be more fulfilling if the 3 of them (as well as the other members of the family) are there. just my opinion.

    29. I hope that since Tina and Bette are single, it means that they will start rekindling there relationship. Maybe, Tina will fly down to Cali and surprise them on Wednesday while they are relaxing. Especially with Tina thinking about moving to Cali for the summer, her and Bette could use this time to start thinking about being a family again. I think Tina did the right thing by leaving Bette with that information to ponder while she is out with Eli tomorrow. Please post soon.

Started it last night but had to close my eyes… It’s great how you ended–would love to hear both their reactions to how the convo ended–T saying “I can’t believe I told her that!”, which is why she hung up right away, while Bette does a happy dance hearing it (probably more of a thoughtful, happy response with her flashing that beautiful smile upon the realization that Tina told her that very deliberately! We all want so much to get those two back together, and you are doing an excellent job hooking us into the twists and turns of how you’ll bring it about. Please post again soon!

I am so glad to see a little happines coming back into Bette’s life and the interaction with all of the “aunts” is just what got us all hooked in the first place.
