A helping hand and a push in the right direction-CH. 31
Both women had tossed and turned a bit throughout the night but once Bette had thrown her arm around Tina they settled down and slept a bit more peacefully. Bette buried her head in Tina’s neck and although she was uncertain about the baby topic she knew that they would work it out and have a conversation very soon. It seemed that in their new relationship open and honest communication would keep them from repeating their past mistakes. That thought eased Bette considerably and lulled her into sleep.
Eli’s question had thrown Tina a bit off kilter. He had never hinted towards wanting a brother or sister she had always imagined having more than one child but being a single mother in a demanding job didn’t afford her the comfort of that possibility. She had a strong support system with all her friends but she wasn’t sure she could handle having two kids on her own, but the situation was different now she’d have Bette with her every step of the way. She knew that Bette would be a great mom she already showed her that by taking such good care of Eli and she wanted so much to give Bette the chance to experience what it felt like to hold their baby and raise their child together. She regretted not being able to raise Eli with Bette if they had another child they would be able to raise it together the way she had always imagined…but would Bette still want to have a baby. Bette definitely seemed a bit shell shocked after Eli asked the question but to be fair so was she. They spent the remainder of the night seemingly floating through the night both lost in their own thoughts. Eli had asked her a one point if everything was okay and she quickly reassured him that it was. She lightened the mood up a bit after that and they managed to talk some more about how things were going to change a bit once they moved to New York. Eli and Tina filled Bette in on what their schedules were like and with Tina busy at work it meant that Bette would become more involved in Eli’s life which Bette seemed to be happy about. She teased Eli about going to all of the PTA meetings and although it was said in jest Tina knew that being a part of her child’s life was something that Bette strongly believed in. When they were first getting to know each other Bette had conveyed one night that she would want to be a hands on mom the way her mother was before she passed away. She recounted stories of how she loved when her mother would tuck her into bed at night and read her a bedtime story or she loved to watch her mother paint and helped her find an appreciation for art there were countless other stories that touched Tina’s heart. If they had a baby Bette would be able to do all of those things for their child. Eli was already at an age where he was too old for a bedtime story. He still had a lot of growing up to do and she was sure Bette would be there for him every step of the way. As she was laying in bed with Bette’s arm around her she had made up her mind that if another baby was something that Bette wanted then they would make it happen. They would need to make some big decisions on who would carry the baby, realistically if they were to have another baby she figured it would have to happen soon, and then there was the issue of who they would use as a donor. All questions they would have to seriously consider but it was too early in the morning to be thinking about these questions and she wanted to be well rested because in a few hours she would be having breakfast with Melvin. So she pulled Bette’s arm more tightly around her and tried to get a few more hours of sleep.

love this story… and i know all about wanting to comment to the comments… love how eli now calls bette ma… that was so cute… and i could just picture bette’s face when he said ma… can’t wait for the opening… please post as soon as you can
Comments are great but the story is the main reason that I am here. It also does not matter how long you take between post. Both of your stories are master pieces and most enjoyable. It would be fun to see Bette have the baby and use the same donor as Eli’s.
tibette in the bath sounds like a very interesting chapter LOL…great dialog, and the story definately moving in the right direction ;)
I so love this story. Thank you That was a Great Chapter.
I don’t have anything new to add so ditto to what everyone else said. lol
I love the love in this story. Don’t worry about answering comments, and post when you have time. Thank you
Love this, love the three of them. Please continue to keep the drama to a minimum. Is it bath time after dinner?
Excellent chapter, they all amazing and happy for them, Ok let see whats next, thanks!
Torbio – thank you for another wonderful chapter in this awesome story we would rather have chapters than comments… Hope you post another chapter SOOONNNNNNNNN!!!! Hope things are going well.
Don’t worry about the comments and not having time to thank us individually. Everyone sees everything from a different perspective so opinions and comments will vary. Do know that we all thoroughly enjoy your writing and can’t wait until you post again.
Me again, Kids are so funny and you never know what will come out of their mouth, My 19 mos old grandson had to go to the ear Dr, this past week. as the Dr was looling in his ears, he told the dr. Hey,This is not worth a damn. Where it came from we will never know. thanks
You treat this couple so lovingly. I’d rather have chapters than personal comments if you’re pressed for time.
Okay, I usually don’t go for stories with B&T sap-fest but this was well-written; with good dialog that didn’t digress on wild, emotional tangents, lol. The emotions too are well written and thus help to connect the characters. The part where Bette cries on Tina’s shoulder is a well-disguised cliché(I know I’m being a devil’s advocate) but you made it work in context of the situation. This chapter read like a classic Bette and Tina plot line(i.e with hope for the future, lmao). The only difference is that it didn’t leave a bad taste in my mouth *weg* So yeah, keep the mush factor to a minimum (or at least don’t type out the emotions, use imagery and gestures instead, lol) and you’ll have a winner;) Great post, keep writing!
I had rather you write than comment to us. we should all be thank you for you time and energy, and effort to make us happy. Not to worry, just keep writing these beautiful chapter, I LOVE ELI. thanks
I love this story! Can’t wait for the next chapter. Thanks!
I agree with Christy..Its great to see comments expressing the readers take on the story…I just enjoy your story because they are so happy and it’s their boy who brought them back 2gether..that’s so nice that a kid would love his mom so much that he would go get her lost love back…a lot of single parent kids get real jealous of a new partner for their parent…please post when you can…
Love it. Thank you.
Awesome as always!. Thank you for writing.
Thanks for the post, I love this wonderful story. Please don’t worry about personal comments or when you can post next, I’m hooked so when ever you have the time to post I’ll definitely read. I loved the talk between Tina and Melvin, he sounded sincere to me…..and of course the little ‘thing’ on the couch with B&T was great :o)) Have a great Sunday…..oh BTW you just gotta love Eli, so sweet :o))

Of course we like it when you respond to our comments, but that is a added bonus. We know you appreciate our comments in the fact that you continue to write for us. I love this story so much. It is well written and well thought out, it’s amazing. Thank you for 6 pages that was a treat, you covered so much. It’s about quality not quanity. Granted we would love to see you post everyday but sometime it’s not possible. We can say that when you do post it is well worth it, we can tell you give it your all. We’ll be eagerly awaiting your next post.
Ditto w/Dainty. Truely awesome. Love that u let Eli call Bette “Ma”. Don’t like the MaB or MaT bit. PLEASE choose Bette to carry their second BABY sharing the same donor as Eli!!!!!! PPS
Tori, you do us a great service by sharing your AWESOME talent with us. We all seek and crave acknowledgement but we also understand about not having enough time to do all the thngs one wants to do. All we ask is that you continue to write this wonderful and loving story for us. You treat the characters so well and let them find and show the love they still have for each other even after all the years apart. That is something everyone wants whether they are gay or straight. Love, acceptance, grace and forgiveness are the all consuming passions for us all and you continue to show us how we can have that by showing it in the girls lives. And WE ALL LOVE ELI, he is just a wonder. All I’m trying to say is, WE LOVE THIS STORY, and love you for giving it to us. Please continue when you can, we do understand time constraints. Thanks for sharing your talent.
Yeah…what they all said since I fell asleep (exhaustion, not boredom) before finishing your latest chapter! Continuing this story is thanks enough for me. It’s so sweet and believable. Love how you handled the Melvin situation and fitted in a “quickie” for our girls! Eli, as always, is such a charmer! You see how we jump on this story as soon as it posts–you’ve got many of us seriously hooked! Post when you can!
Sure evyone loves to read response to their comments, BUT you writing this beautiful story is thanks enough for me :o). Since Tina’s family has turned their backs on them, I think that it is important for Melvin to reconcile with B&T and their family. Eli needs another grand parent, and grand children are well known for melting old farts hearts LOL. I am looking foward to the bonding of this family. Please check your PM’s.
I love this story! Looking forward to their talk…..IN THE TUB no less!
