~Bette~

Bette sat at her desk and tried to concentrate on the tedious task of answering messages left by temperamental artist and their managers. The more she tried to work the more she thought of a certain blond that had turned her mundane and somewhat scheduled life up side down.

She wondered if it was too early to call and see if she wanted to go to dinner that night or even the next. Even though she had text Tina after she left the studio she wanted to call as soon as she got in her office but part of her wanted to let Tina call to see if they were really on the same wavelength. At the end of the day it didn’t matter who called whom because Bette knew that she would call Tina.

“James” Bette said through the intercom

“Yes boss” James answered

“Could you get me a coffee please and if any one calls aside from Tina, Take a message. I have to make a personal call”

“No problem Boss” James said

Bette picked up her phone and dialed a number by heart.

“Hey Kit… When are you coming into town? Are you finally going to stay for good? Where is your show? Yea I know where The Planet is. Could you put me down for two tickets? Yes, I’m bringing a date. Yea, she is special. I love you too Kit. I’ll see you soon”

As soon as Bette hung up the phone James walked with two cups of coffee.

“What’s with the extra cup?” Bette asked

“Tina. She was just here, I told her to go on in, you didn’t see her?” James asked

“No She never made it back. How long ago was it?”

“Right after I left to get the coffee” James told her.

“James cancel the rest of my day, anything of importance reschedule for tomorrow morning,” Bette told him as she picked up her purse, cell and laptop.” When your done take the rest of the day off” Bette said as she walked out the front door.
