Chapter 53

Gillian couldn’t help but smile as she turned the key opening the front door. She walked in and cut the light off.

“Are you okay?” Peggy asked.

”Yeah everything’s cool.” Gillian answered.

“You certainly look happy, I take it things went well.” Peggy said implying what she thought was the obvious.

“Nothing happened, we just talked.” Gillian remarked.

“Whatever you say?” Peggy said getting up from her chair.

“I’m going to bed and you should also we have a busy day tomorrow.” She said going heading towards the stairs.

“Is Helena very upset?” Gillian asked. Peggy stopped on the stairs.

“You’d have to ask her that? Helena is very venerable even though she puts forth a tough front. She’s a little girl on the inside. She came in and went straight to her room.” She said.

Gillian already felt bad about yelling at her, but Peggy’s words made her feel even worse.

Bette, Shane, and Dana sat around the kitchen table whispering when Tina came in.

“Find anything?” Bette asked cautiously.

“Not a thing, but I know something has been going on. I just know it.” She said.

“Gill’s a good kid. She wouldn’t do anything she isn’t ready for.” Dana said.

“I know I guess I’m over reacting. She is almost 17, but I just feel left out. She used to tell me everything, now we barely see each other.” Tina said.

“Honey she’s growing up. We have both been working a lot, but she has her own life. Things she likes to do that don’t include either of us. We are just going to have to get used to it.” Bette said holding Tina’s hand.

“I know. It’s just hard letting her go. I always thought that we would always be close and talk about everything.” Tina admitted.

“Tina, have you ever willing had a conversation with you mother about your sex life let alone enjoyed it?” Bette asked.

“Hell no.” Tina said.

“Gillian loves you and you love her but no matter how close you are with her she is never going to be completely comfortable talk about sex with you or me for that matter.” Bette said.

“You right. It still stings though.” Tina said.

“I know honey.” Bette said.

“You know there is a solution to this problem.” Alice yelled from the hallway.

“It speaks.” Shane said.

“What kind of solution?” Tina asked.

“You two just have another kid.” She yelled.

“That’s ridiculous.” Bette said.

“It’s not that far fetched.” Tina said.

“T, we both agreed not to discuss this until after.” Bette said.

“I know, but that’s just around the corner hell its just 4 weeks away.” Tina said.

“What is 4 weeks away?” Dana asked.

“Nothing.” Bette said.

“She’s lying.” Alice chimed in now stumbling into the kitchen.

“What the hell do you know you’re drunk?” Bette snapped.

“I’ve know you long enough to know that you’re lying.” Alice slurred bracing herself on the counter.

“Al’s right you’re doing that thing with your face.” Shane said.

“Jeez since when did the inquisition get revived?” Bette said.

“We know something is going on. Just tell us, before Alice realizes she was right.” Shane said.

“It’s a surprise.” Tina said.

“What kind of surprise?” Dana asked.

“A good one.” Tina said.

“A big one.” Bette added.

“You have to tell us.” Dana said.

“Nope, you are just going to have to wait.” Tina said.
