A Taste of Something Creole, Chapter 2
DP turned her head, before she turned her body. Her professional life was based on meeting women, all types of women. In her skirt she felt safe; it was like armor for her. Maybe that was the main reason why she had chosen this profession in the first place: "feeling safe".
In her stiff white skirt, she was unapproachable for feelings of a romantic nature. Now she felt briefly the handshake, the slight touch of this exquisite woman that was standing in front of her.
“Hello, I am Kit Porter, Bette’s sister, how very nice to meet you.”
A part of DP wanted to leave, leave immediately, but another unknown part of her felt drawn to this warm personality, whose presence bathed her whole body with a sensation never experienced before.
"Please," her voice was inviting and warm, "please stay a little." Kit was more than a little intrigued, and the last thing she wanted was for this woman to leave without at least having the chance to get to know each other a little better.
DP checked her watch to see what time it was. Not that she was in a hurry or something, God no. Well, if she were, not anymore. She almost giggled. “Good God DP,” she said to herself, “get a grip on yourself.”
To be a little longer in the presence of this sensual woman was worth more than being late to some kind of dull appointment. All her appointments were dull in some kind of way. They were always related to her work, always formal, never in the least bit adventurous. ‘Adventurous’. Why in heaven’s name did that word come to mind? She was always more than happy with the structured, well organized life she has. The part ´was´ struck her. “Am, am,” she repeated quickly, too quickly in a way to do justice to what she was really feeling at this moment. She looked up. Had she spoken the words out loud? Thank God, no.
Dammit, what was going on here? She hated it when she could not control, could not handle a situation. She was used to being in control, always analytical, professional, and always at a safe distance. Right now her mind was much too occupied with thoughts she thought she would never experience. Not her. She had to drop her eyes to disguise how much this woman had disarmed her. Checking the time was a perfect way to do that…..

I’ve had a crush on Dr. Wilson since I first heard her voice. Please treat her well and bring on the adventures.

More! More! More! I definitely want to see this continue, and soon!
I am enjoying this tag team approach. I could almost hear her voice. “She had to drop her eyes to disguise how much this woman had disarmed her. Checking the time was a perfect way to do that…..”, great line!
