Tina’s jaw drops. The brunette looks surprised and embarrassed, and stands up to escape from Gwen’s embrace.
Bette – Hi, Gwen!
She points to her girlfriend.
Bette – Have you met Tina?
Gwen looks at Tina with cold eyes.
Gwen – Hi!
Tina – We met at David Ross’ party.
The redhead takes a second look at her.
Gwen – Oh … yeah … Eric …
The producer nods.
Gwen speaks dryly.
Gwen – I met your boyfriend at Andy Stewart’s house last weekend. I didn’t see you there.
Tina – We are not together any longer.
Gwen – Ahh …
She turns to Bette and places her hand on the brunette’s shoulder.
Gwen – I didn’t see you there either. Gloria asked about you.
Bette – I was busy.
The redhead pulls her by the hand.
Gwen – Let’s dance, Miss Hotness!
Bette – Wait … I am with Tina and Al …
Gwen – They won’t mind!
She drags Bette by the hand.
The brunette looks back at her girlfriend with pleading eyes and the blonde mouths “It’s OK.” but she does not look pleased.
Bette sighs frustrated and is dragged to the dancefloor.
Alice – Tactical mistake …
The producer sighs and places her beer bottle on the counter.
Tina – I’m going to the restroom.
She walks away looking upset.
Alice – OK.
The brunette returns soon after and sits next to Al.
Bette – Fucking Gwen is like a leech sometimes!
Alice – Why didn’t you tell her about Tina?
Bette – Tina wouldn’t let me!
She frowns and looks around.
Bette – Where is she?
Alice – Restroom.
Bette grabs her beer and takes a gulp.

Lesbian nightclub, night: Tina leaves the restroom and is returning to the bar when someone in the crowd touches her arm.
Natalie – Tina!
The blonde turns around and chuckles, slightly blushing.
Tina – Hi, Natalie!
Natalie – Hi! Are you here with Bette?
Tina – Uh … yeah.
Natalie – Don’t worry, Tina. I know how to keep a secret.
The producer nods with a slight smile.
Natalie – Have you met my girlfriend, Sharon?
She turns to her girlfriend, an attractive femme with long black hair.
Natalie – Sharon, this is the big boss, Tina Kennard.
The blonde chuckles and shakes her head.
Tina – Hi, nice to meet you, Sharon!
Sharon – Hi! I love all the movies that you produce! You have so much attention to details.
Tina – Oh, thank you!
Natalie – She is a producer for the NBC local news.
Tina – Oh wow … good for you!
Sharon – Yes, but movies are my passion!
Natalie – I’m going to get a beer. Can I get you something?
Sharon – One for me, babe!
Tina – No, thanks! I’m good.
Sharon – How did you get into movie production, Tina?
Natalie heads to the bar and the two producers continue to talk.

Lesbian nightclub, night: Bette and Alice are at the bar, facing the crowd. Alice smiles mischievously when she sees Tina talking to a beautiful brunette, Sharon.
Alice – Who is that?
The brunette looks in the same direction and frowns.
Bette – They won’t leave her alone, will they?
Alice – Fresh meat!
The gallery owner glances at her friend annoyed. She sighs and stands up.
Bette – Let me find out!
Alice holds her by the wrist.
Alice – Nah, nah, nah, nah! You are not going to scare your girlfriend away. Let her handle it! You don’t want to look desperate.
Bette acquiesces but doesn’t look pleased. She sits down and continues to watch her girlfriend with a pout.
The woman touches Tina’s earring and looks at it more closely.
Bette’s mouth drops open.
Bette – Al …
Alice – What?
She turns to look.
Alice – OK, you’re right. Time to claim your property!
The gallery owner stands up with an intense look.
Alice – Be cool!
She admonishes the brunette and turns serious.
Alice – Now you know how women felt about you!
Bette nods slightly, looking somewhat embarrassed.
Alice – Come on, go ahead! Love is urgent!
The brunette squints annoyed and heads toward her girlfriend.
Alice shakes her head amused as she leaves.
Alice – Ah, Miss Porter … you have a lot to learn about love! (pause) Experiment number one: Miss Porter goes to love school. (pause) Umm … that’s a nice title for an article!

But about lesbian night club – maybe it’s not such a good idea to there until Bette can freely tell anyone that Tina now her girlfriend. If not – there is always would be moment like with Gwen

It’s cute how they are so into each other. Feels like they racing each other for saying the L Word.
But first Tina will have to come to terms to be out. While Natalie might keep her knowlegde to herself, I picture Gwen to be someone who spreads the news about Tina and Bette outside the lesbian community.
This is a learning lesson for all.. Tina is not ready to go public with her relationship with Bette and is going to be subject to approaches as will Bette. Tina is having a rough time with Bette’s relationships prior to her relationship. Tina is missing her friends who do not know about her relationship with Bette. This is what happens when a person starts a new relationship which appears to be serious – your friends and family take a secondary priority for your time. This seems to me to represent doubt in Tina’s mind if she is really ready to live the life of a lesbian. Its going to cause discomfort to both Bette and Tina if they have to hide their relationship from the public. This is going to be a problem between them at some point. If Tina cannot be at Bette’s side for a gallery opening or Tina cannot have Bette to be her escort at a wrap party, they will not be happy campers. This will be their first argument.

Alice is hilarious, Bette attending love school!
I agree with Martha about Tina, she is not quite ready to be out and it could cause some trouble in their relationship. Bette is ready to shout out to the world that Tina is her girlfriend, while Tina wants to stay in the closet.
But Tina is right about spending some time with friends, but she doesn’t hesistate to go to Bette when asked or have the opportunity.
I really hope that hiding their relationship is a tempory thing and that Tina will come out to her family and friends. Bette is very understanding and gives her the time, but she will get frustrated when Tina hides their relationship for to long.
