“No that was Tina her wife Kelly was the other tall blonde standing next to Alice. Do you know Kelly,” Shane ask suspiciously.

“No, never met her but in my line of business what we do professionally we know of other people but then again we don’t know about a lot of people. She’s a very gorgeous woman.”

“So you like women,” Shane asked in a flirtatious manner.

“Very much so don’t you?”

“I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

“Well Shane it appears we have something in common.”

“I don’t know about that I’m not interested in Kelly she’s straight.”

“We have something else in common I’m not interested in Kelly either.”

“You’re not,”Shane says sounding confused.

“No I am not but just between me and you she didn’t look straight in the photo.”

“Hahhahaha didn’t look straight in the photo what does that mean?”

“From what I gathered from the photo looks like Kelly and Alice are a couple—–a nice looking couple at that.”

“There not a couple Alice is engaged to someone else.

“Engaged well congratulations are in order for your friend.”

Shane is starting to feel uneasy. Here this beautiful woman a complete stranger has approached her asking her questions about her friends and people in the photo. Without being overly nosy the woman was definitely trying to pry some sort of information from Shane.

“Chris what exactly is it that you do?”

“I acquire and sell high end real estate.”

“How does someone who makes a living selling and buying real estate come to be interested in art?”

“I’m not.”

“Okay so what’s your angle you’re asking me questions about my friends I mean do you want to date one of them I mean I don’t even understand this conversation we’re having right now.”

Just when Chris is about to answer Shane a short man dressed in a business suit calls out to her signaling to her that her black Lincoln Town car had pulled up. Chris chauffeur gets out and holds the door open.

Looking at the man, “Okay thanks I’ll be right there,” Chris says.

Turning to face Shane Chris reaches into her purse and pulls out a newspaper clipping of a picture that Shane and her friends took at the gallery looking down at it, “After you congratulate your friend on her impending marriage make sure you tell her to be careful.”

With that Chris turns around and walks back towards her car.

Shane putting two and two together calls after her, “So you know Clea?”

Turning back to face Shane before entering her car, “Know Clea yes you can say something like that.” Chris gets into her car and drives off.

Not sure what to make of what just happened a chill suddenly ran down Shanes back.

Her phone rings.

“Hey T what’s up?”

“Bette and I have an emergency and we have to fly out tonight and we were wondering would you mind house sitting for us. We tried calling Kit but haven’t been able to reach her.”

“T yeah of course what’s going on is everything okay?”

“Angelica was arrested for drunk driving.”
