All I Need (Chapter 10)
Dana ran her hand through her long, brown hair. The newspaper in front of her was open, but every time she tried to read it her thoughts distracted her. Alice had been gone for three weeks, and everyday that passed caused Dana’s anxiety to double. Sighing in frustration, she lifted her head, and glanced around The Planet. It was a bright Sunday morning, and the small amount of costumers scattered around the café were busy drinking their coffee, while chatting with friends. Leaning back in her chair, Dana closed her eyes and tried to block out the other patrons’ voices.
Shane and Tina walked through the door and spotted Dana sitting alone in the far corner. After grabbing their coffee they made their way to the brunette.
“Someone looks like they had a shitty night.” Shane said, while taking a seat across from Dana.
“Thanks, Shane.”
“When was the last time you got a good night sleep, Dana.” Tina asked, noticing the dark circles under her friend’s eyes.
Dana shook her head, “Does it really matter?”
Tina put her hand on the tennis player’s arm, “Of course it matters. You need to take care of yourself.”
“I know, but I just can’t stop thinking about Alice, and what’s going to happen when she comes home.”
“She loves you, and that’s what you should be concentrating on.” Shane said
Dana took a deep breath and looked at the hairstylist. “It’s not that easy.”
Shane nodded her head, “I didn’t say it was, but you have to believe in what you guys have, because if you don’t how do you expect Alice to.”
“I want to believe, but…”
Shane’s voice cut through Dana’s words, “There are no buts, Dana. You either believe or you don’t.”
Dana’s eyes dropped to the silver table top, “I’m trying, Shane.”
“I know you are. I just want you to remember that you’re a strong woman, Dana, and that’s one of the reasons Alice fell so hard for you.”
Dana’s gaze meet Shane’s, “You really think she’ll come back to me.”
The hairstylist smiled at her friend. “I have no doubt.”

It feels like more than 3 weeks that Alice took off. ;) Good to see you back and that you’re healthy again! :) I loved this chapter…but Dana needs to get it together. She needs to face her own insecurities and deal with them. Alice obviously did already. I wonder what Dana’s next move will be. Looking forward to the next chapter.
Good to have you back – great to hear you have a new job and are in a happier state – both at work and in your heath. Another terrific chapter which I hope will be followed soon by the next one.
I knew the title was familiar, but I was so happy to see that this was the story with Kerry and Alice. It has been quite a while. I’m sorry that you were sick. I hope you made a full recovery. By the way, I love this story.
I love this story… Any chance of an update? Please??

This was an absolutely terrific update and the story keeps getting better and better. I totally love the way you write the characters as well–so believable and insightful. Okay, I’m done gushing…for now.
