    All the Small Things–Chapter 6

    The first Friday

Tina was typing up a proposal that she wanted to give to her boss, Joseph, about a new movie that she had long wanted to make. All thoughts and both her hands were interrupted by her office phone ringing loudly. She then released both hands from her keyboard and lifted up the receiver, wondering who on earth could be calling her in the middle of the day.

“Hi. This is Tina Kennard,” Tina greeted. She heard a few papers being shuffled and a small chuckle on the other end of the line. She shook her head, knowing whose voice it was.

“Hey, Tina. Have you had lunch?” Bette asked, walking to her car.

“No. Are you calling to bring me lunch?”

“Maybe,” Bette said, grinning widely. “I’m going to the Planet right now. Do you want me to bring you anything? I’d bring you pizza and pasta, but that sounds like Monday night.”

Tina smiled at Bette’s thoughtfulness. Her housemate had been nothing short of kind and considerate. She always had breakfast on her table in the morning after Bette left and sometimes dinner in the evening if she got in too late. Maybe this would be a good time to give something back. And get a break from all work-related stress. “What if I meet you for lunch?”

“Are you sure? You must be swamped out there. I don’t want to disturb you if you’re working on something really important,” Bette replied, as she got into her car. “I could just swing by and give you lunch. It’s on me. You’re still coming to dinner at the Planet, right?”

Round two of Bette Porter’s kindness, served nice and warm. “Yes, I’m joining you for Friday dinner with your friends. You know what, let’s go out and have lunch. I need to get out of here. I’ll treat you out to lunch at the Planet, and maybe I could meet Kit. How does that sound?”

Bette lifted her cellphone off her ear, barely believing what she just heard. Was her new housemate asking her out? Okay, calm down, no assumptions first. “Sure. I’ll pick you up.”

“You know where the building is?” Tina asked.

    1. Really great update….since the beach got cancelled, I think it’s time they reschedule or perhaps a nice relaxing day by the pool w/ just B&T to reacquaint themselves w/ what the other looks like in a bikini ;) Love T’s protective side…things are looking good, can’t wait for the next one!

    2. Interesting way for them to begin a relationship….protecting each other. Feeling have definitely started to form. Great update…just waiting for the next one!

    3. Tina is blissfully unaware of Bette’s innate power to subconsciously attract. Oh…and it makes for a delicious story. Tina is going to suddenly find herself head over heels…PPS!

    4. Loving the progression of this story, blueskies. I like that you’re developing a solid friendship first and then, hopefully, allowing their feelings to surface. Love the alpha Tina!

    5. Just caught up with this story and I love it. Looks like there will be a solid friendship first then the romance and both are building very well. Also love Alpha Tina. Jodi has just mixed with the wrong woman. When Tina becomes protective of Bette there is no one more fierce. jodi had better watch out.Love this story. PPS

    6. YEAh go tina!!! tina and jodie in a smackdown!!LOL but i don’t think jodie is done yet… she tends to be a little thick headed sometimes!! :)PPS

    7. That a girl Tina. Jodi I wouldn’t come back if I were you. The closer Tina gets to Bette the more protective she’s going to get. And you do not want a pissed off Tina Kennard coming at you cos you messed with her woman.

    8. I love Bette and Tina bonding slowly as friends. It should make that spark ignite a bonfire when the time comes. Tina’s passionate defense of Bette when Jodi tried to cause drama was BRILLIANT!
