ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE – Chapter 54
Bette was putting the finishing touches to her Halloween costume – she applied the make up to her face so it was as white as the shirt she was wearing – she applied the rich ruby red lip stick and as a final touch she slipped the fangs into her mouth. She smiled at herself and giving a final swirl of her black cape she left her bedroom. Downstairs she removed another batch of sausage rolls from the oven and went to check on the lighting in the sitting room.
Even the cats were in the Halloween spirit by wearing collars that lit up in the dark – they were hanging around hoping for some titbit to eat. As she fiddled with the spooky sounds CD the door bell sounded – a ghostly sound especially changed for the party. Bette grinned as she opened the door to greet a witch complete with pointed hat and a devil complete with red suit and tail. Better remove her fake fangs she thought.
“Hey Helena – hey Jodie “Bette signed her greetings
“Under stated as always Peabody “Bette said to witch who had clearly had fun with the make up and false warts
“I could say the same for you – Countess Von Porter – you might struggle to find a virgin around here “
Bette chuckled “ Has she been at the bat juice already ?” she asked Jodie mouthing the words slowly because there was no way she knew the sign language for that comment.
“She looks like that first thing in the morning before her coffee “Jodie replied kissing Helena. Bette laughed and gestured for them to come into the sitting room. Helena and Jodie had been together longer than she had been with Tina and they seemed genuinely fond of one another.
“Where are the young Porter phantoms and Kennard Killers? “ Helena asked” Things are very quiet in here for one of your parties Bette “
“Out trick or treating with Tina, Lara and Paul – Ollie is working “
“How is Tina? “ Jodie asked. Bette looked at Helena – she had told her best friend of her fears about Tina’s problems. She knew that Helena would talk to Jodie about it and she was fine about it – Jodie had known Tina longer than anyone else and if anyone was able to assess Tina’s current feelings it was Jodie.

So Bette wants to jump on the skeleton’s bones. Despite the costume it sounds like Helena came as the village idiot. That was the kind of intervention worthy or a reality show. But Ally, “tight arsed sod” isn’t really a turn of phrase one would expect out of an American. Good luck to you and Cheryl.

Great chapter what did Helena think she was playing at confronting Tina like that. If she had been thinking about taking a drink that would have pushed her right over the line to take one. I am so glad Bette is so supportive of her and continuously shows Tina how much she loves her as well as her girls. Hope you enjoy your B-Day on wednesday and pps.

Please let the vampire jump the skeleton’s bones in the next chapter, they both need the interlude, and we need to read it. Congrats on getting back with Cheryl, everyone needs love. Bette is great support for Tina and can always calm her down. That love and support is so important.They will be fine. Helena needs to apologize, like right now. PPS
Okay, to be perfectly frank: I know that Helena is concerned about her business but she is just being an insensitive bitch. Whew! Now that I’ve let that out – great story, I love B & T’s tenderness. PPS!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALLY! Hope your have a grand time! Have fun and be safe! I love this story. I feel so bad for Tina. It is very hard not to take the negative things that have happened throughout your life and hold them close to your heart. Here Tina is a beautiful woman both inside and out, she is successful financially, has three intelligent and beautiful daughters that are a credit to her, a wonderful girlfriend that loves her very much, and friends that care so much about her; but she still doesn’t think highly of herself because of what some people have said or done to her in the past. I think she could benefit from counseling…maybe she would go if Bette went with her. Anyway Ally this was another great chapter and I can’t wait for the next one!

Glad to hear you are happy. However, Helena needs an ass kicking. She had no right to act like that.. Confronting someone who has a depression issue exacerbated by alcohol accusingly is a fairly bad idea. Especially when its not out of concern for Tina. Clearly she is concerned but it seems like its for Bette and her wallet..not the person who is suffering from an issue. Anyway, hope this alcohol thing is over quickly. 6 kids, Ollie, and the eventual move in together, get married, and maybe have another kid thing is enough drama.

That was an excellent chapter and so full of wisdom I like the way that you try to present such serious problems and you are right on what you said about not treating the people who have problems like children by taking what causing the problem away from them just like they can’t find a way to it.What is wrong with Helena she is being really annoying and not just to Jodie, it’s like the only thing that concerns her is how her business is going to be affected which is at some level very understandable but, really her friends are beginning to see that this is the only thing that she cares about, she is being a bitch, any way Ally that was phenomenal. Good luck for you and your lovely Girlfriend happy birthday I am sorry I know it’s a little late but I had some connection troubles. Be happy honey you deserve it. Love
