Chapter 64
“So- what about this one ?” Helena handed the details about another property to Bette. Bette put her glass of wine down and looked at the sheet of paper than her best friend handed her
Bette nodded “Seven bedrooms – we could build an extra couple of rooms above the garages – not much of a garden “
“How far a distance are you putting on this search ?”
“It depends – the kids are settled in school and I don’t think that another school would be good for the boys.
They are happy and Dan is just thriving at the moment.
“A lot of that is to do with how he sees you are happy and he is very close to Rebecca -they are great friends “
Bette nodded as she picked up her fork and shovelled some spaghetti into her mouth. She had decided that it was about time that they moved in as a family. Thanksgiving had just brought home to her how everything would be less complicated if they lived in one house as a family. So Bette had begun on a house search – when she found the home for them – that was when she was going to propose to Tina -that was when she was going to make the woman she loved an offer that she wouldn’t refuse.
“Tell me what you are looking for ?”
“Eight bedrooms – one each for the kids – a huge room for Tina and I and a big room for Lara “
“Have you spoken to Lara – she doesn’t want to move on ?”
“No – she is happy the way things are- I pay her very well – in fact I increased her wage when she started cooking for six kids and not just three – she will move on but she is happy to stay – I have spoken to her “
“She likes Tina “
“She does – and so does Alice “
“Makes a change “
Helena raised her eyebrow – Bette smiled
“Personality clash – Emily just didn’t understand Alice and visa versa “

Lovely Allye, you do this so well. Even though you at least 3 stories going about “our girls,” neither of the characters are similiar in each story.You give them different occupations and the character to match, yet they are still Bette and Tina that we all love. That is the mark of a truly magnificient writer. Keep up the good work. Will you now let us see Bette make love to Tina. PPS
How many 8 bedroom houses in the same school district are they going to have to choose from?
They could do a crossword puzzle.

Maybe they should just build a house. It takes longer but it also ensures you get what you want. I hope Tina realizes she is as good for Bette as Bette is for her soon… and that the whole drinking as a crutch when she has other problems is over.
