    Bette and Tina’s first date

     

     

     

    ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE – Chapter 13

    Bette gave Tina her most winning smile as she helped her from the cab that had taken them into town. The restaurant that Bette had selected was in a trendy part of town crammed with new buildings and exciting smells coming from Thai, Indian, Chinese and Mexican restaurants.

     

     

    She had expected to be more anxious than she actually was. Maybe it was how good Tina was looking that was giving her different thoughts to dwell on. In the taxi they had talked about Becky and Dan’s chances of getting roles in the class play – Bette was delighted at how quickly Dan had settled into his new school and that he was popular.

     

     

     

    When they stood on the pavement Tina looked at Bette and smiled

     

     

    “Has it dawned on you that we are actually on a date – not shopping for soccer kit for the kids? “

     

     

    Bette shook her head “Probably not – I like you a lot Tina. Maybe we should agree not to talk about the kids tonight – get to know each other “

     

    “That might work “Tina laughed “But then again it might not “

     

     

    “Lets see what we can manage eh – we are two college educated writers – how hard can it be not to talk about our six kids?”

     

    Tina laughed as Bette pulled a funny face “Yeah – hard “

     

     

    As they moved across the road Bette took Tina’s hand – Tina looked at her causing Bette to misinterpret the look

     

    “Is this okay? “She said

     

    Tina smiled “Its fine Bette – it feels good “

     

    “Yes it does “

     

     

    “I guess its going to take some getting used to “

     

    “It’s been a long time for both of us “

     

    “It has – we’ve both been badly hurt and neither of us are going to rush into this “

     

    Bette looked at the blonde and sighed – she really was so pretty. Tina raised her eyebrow at Bette.

     

    “Just admiring how good you look “

    12. Well, as long as they got a secluded table. They can still go to a French restaurant eventually. And I think Bette & Tina ought to go camping alone a time or two before taking the kids along. Not much privacy in a Winnebago. Even less in a tent-reminds me of the time I was a kid camping with my parents and the young couple retired to their tent for the night bringing their lantern with them. The eventually realized that they were putting on a silhouette striptease for the campground before they doused the light.

    16. GOD, Ally! You should’ve rated that as a mental R or NC-17. That has to be one of the hottest first dates I’ve ever read. Oh and I noticed this: “Lets see what we can manage eh – we are two college educated writers – how hard can it be not to talk about our six kids?” OUR six kids hmmmmmmm??? ;) Maybe I just took it the wrong way but it sounded sweet. =) LOL@Josh calling Bette a wuss!

    19. Hi Ally, More wonderful writing as Bette and Tina embark on relationship together. There was gentle teasing, lustful looks, genuine connection and the beginnings of love. I adored the sharing of their dessert. This was such an intimate act and demonstrated the potential of there is to come. Ruling out past partnerships and kids was a smart move as it let them get to know one another without the shackles of the past. Please continue with the rest of this amazing night soon.
