and it wasnt a dream (XXXVIII)
The moment Bette saw Tina peacefully sleeping in bed she knew that the whole driving madness has been worthy.
After talking with Shane and Jack for a couple of minutes Bette headed to Tinas room.
She wasnt sure about anything anymore but she knew she wanted, she needed to see Tina.
The moment Tina called her to let her know about the small accident Bette knew what she had to do. She didnt tell Tina not to worry her or even worse not to let her say she didnt want her there. Bette wasnt still sure about Tinas wishes. She could tell Tina wanted to spend some time with her, seemed happy with her and that morning, when she called her to thank her for the candy basket Bette even could swear Tina was very moved by the small gesture. Talking with Tina that morning reminded Bette some of the things that the Tina she knew used to love.
On her way home to pack and get ready to go on the road Bette thought about those first weeks with Tina. How they got to know each other. Small things that show them how the other on was. For Bette it was all exciting, so new, and so scary. Bette realized from the first moment she met Tina that she wanted her. But it wasnt the hunter in her what made her want Tina, it was something else.
It took Bette more than a month to calm down. It was all so new to her. It wasnt just the usual lust, it was so much more, so much deep.
What drove Bette those first week was not lust, or it wasnt just lust. Every morning she woke up thinking about Tina, wanting to know new things about her. She found herself wanting to be with her all the time, wanting to share her secrets with her, wanting to talk with her all the time, and more surprising, wanting to listen to her all the time. Listening to Tina calmed Bette down, calmed all her worries, all her fears. Tinas easiness, Tinas courage and at the end, just Tinas voice tone used to make Bettes heart to jump.
It was all so new to her. Bette found out, early on that Tina was the first person she could listen talking about anything and with no much work she could be arouse. She could listen to Tina read the telephone book and shed get arouse. It was something strange, and just recently she talked about it with Dan Foxworthy. It was maybe that tender and candor was something that turned her on?
She told him about those first months. She told him how scary those feelings were for her.
Knowing that Tina had such an effect on her, so much power over her, made Bette very insecure. But even then all those feeling vanished the moment Tina talked with her, the moment Tina touch her, the moment Tina laid her eyes on her.
Tina had that effect on Bette. No one who knew Bette back then, could have believe that it didnt bother Bette that much to wait for Tina to be ready to have ***** with her. Waiting for her came like something so natural, so easy that it only made the whole waiting even more exciting. Waiting for Tina made their first time together much more exciting, much more hot, liberating and loving. Was such a sweet and hot memory…
Waiting for Tina made Bette proud of herself, proud to know that she didnt back to what she knew was her fate, her destiny. It made Bette proud to know that fear and pride didnt stop her to face and embrace Tina and all that she represented.
She had a full life with Tina and only her own insecurities, her fears made it all end.
Looking at Tina sleeping peacefully made Bette realized that she backed destiny, that she played with fate the moment she put her eyes on Candance. But looking at her lovely sweet face also made Bette realized that it was in her hands to gain Tinas love again.
It was that idea what brought Bette on the road that Friday night. It was late, she worked the whole day but knowing that the girls were in a small town in the middle of nowhere and that Tina was there, with Jack and the others moved something inside Bette.Thinking about, imaging her sweet caring face made Bete shiver.
She didnt know what it was. It was a feeling, a knot in her stomach, something told her that she should go there, check on Tina. Something inside of her made her realize that she was not going to be able to sleep thinking about Tina and the girls in that small hotel. Bette, as it happened seven years ago, needed to see Tina, needed to be able to be close to her. And it wasnt just because she was jealous of whatever Tina and Jack had, it was because something inside told Bette that fate was testing her again.
