    Another Look Inside

How any of the women got up the next day to begin the wedding process is still a mystery but they did it. The house became a hub of activity. Bette and Harmony were split up and worked on individually. Alice and Tina helped Bette with her dress and make-up as Shane began on Harmony’s hair and D did make up. Carman, Kit and Lara were all at the planet making last minute reception preparations before the ceremony. Jenny, surprisingly enough, was no where to be found. People were disappearing left and right this weekend. The operation moved forward as planned. They were scheduled to arrive at the hotel that Shane booked by 8 a.m. At 7:30 the women started to leave once Bette and Harmony were dressed and ready to go. That is all but two. Bette headed downstairs to see Tina out while Roxy packed up the rest of her things upstairs with Harmony.

Bette: “Tina I want to thank you.”

    Tina: “Thank me for what?”

Bette: “Everything. This. Being cool with everything. We’ve been through a lot the last couple months but we made it work. A lot of that has been thanks to fir…I mean Harmony but you have made this whole-transition a lot smoother with your semi-positive attitude.”

She said with a laugh. Tina however wasn’t smiling.

    Tina: “Bette?”

    Bette: “Yeah?”

Tina: “Are you sure about this?”

    Upstairs.

Roxy: “So this is it huh?”

    Harmony: “Yup!”

She answered with her back facing Roxanne as she primped in the mirror.

    Roxy: “Nervous?”

Harmony: “Not in the least. I’m about to marry the woman of my dreams. I couldn’t be happier right now.”

Roxanne felt as if she had been punched in the gut.

Roxy: “So you’re sure about this? 11o%?”

Harmony turned around and looked at her.

    Meanwhile

Bette: “Of course I’m sure, why wouldn’t I be?”

    Tina: “No reason.”

Bette: “Tina is there something you want to say to me?”

Tina froze. Did she have something to say?

    Back upstairs.

Harmony: “I’m 1000% sure Rox. Why?”

    Roxy: “No reason…”

Harmony: “Roxanne I don’t have time for this. If you have something to say, then say it.”

Roxy: “I love you, I’m in love with you. I don’t want you to do this!”

    Downstairs.

Tina: “It’s just…we were great together.”

    Bette: “At one point, yes.

Tina: “Do you ever miss that?”

    Bette stopped to think.

    At the same time.

Harmony was frozen in her tracks. She knew Roxanne had deep lying feelings for her that were never really resolved but she never knew they were strong enough for her to try to ruin her wedding day.

Harmony: “Rox I love you too…”

    And.

Bette: “Honestly? Yes at sometimes I do.”

Tina: “So why haven’t you said anything?”

Bette: “Because everything we had I have now with Harmony.”

    Tina’s heart sunk.

Bette: “What we had was spectacular and special in every way but it just wasn’t meant to be. We were both very different people then. It couldn’t go on. Even if I hadn’t done what I did, something else would have torn us apart.”

    Tina: “You really think so?”

    Bette: “Yes I do.”

Tina: “Well its getting late, I better get going.”

Tina started towards the door fighting back tears. She turned around and got uncomfortably close to Bette

Tina: “By the way I don’t agree. You never know what might happen Bette Porter.”

    Bette: “That’s Porter-Scott.”

Bette closed the door on Tina.

    Back upstairs.

Harmony: “I love you too…but not the way you love me.”

Roxy: “But we were made for each other. You know it. It was just a matter of time, before…before her.”

Harmony: “Her? That her is about to me my wife. Look I’m sorry Roxanne that I don’t reciprocate your feelings but you have to respect me and Bette’s relationship. She and I were meant to be.”

Roxy: “If I can’t have you then I can’t be your friend.”

Harmony: “I’m very sorry to hear that Roxy but Bette is about to be my wife. You have a problem with her, you have a problem with me.”

Roxy: “So that’s it? We’re through?”

Harmony: “That’s your decision, not mine.”

Roxy: “You’ll regret letting me go.”

Harmony: “I can’t help but feel the same way about you.”

And with that Roxanne turned and walked down the stairs, past Bette, out the house, and out of Harmony’s life for good. Harmony wanted to cry but she wasn’t going to ruin her makeup. The sound of Bette’s voice calling her from downstairs led her to be strong, at least till later.

Bette stood at the bottom of the stairwell as Harmony descended the stairs. Bette stood breathless as she was flawlessly draped in a strapless, backless, egg shell linen dress that cascaded around her feet once she completed her decent.

    Bette: “You look…wow”

Harmony: “I take it you like.”

    Bette: “Very much.”

Harmony: “Well you don’t look so bad yourself.”

    Bette: “Why thank you.”

They stared at each other lovingly for a while until they heard the unfamiliar honk of a horn outside.

Bette: “What’s Kit picking us up in a Rolls?”

They laughed as they headed out the front door. Indeed it was a Rolls Royce. Kit, however, was not the driver. He came around the front and held open the door of the biggest and whitest and most expensive car either of them had seen.

Harmony: “Oh my God babe did you do this?”

Bette: “I wish I could say that I did but it wasn’t me.”

They stood there looking from each other, to the car, then back again.

    Bette: “Well. Let’s get hitched!”

They giggled like school girls as they entered the car and the driver closed the door for them.

Bette: “Excuse me sir but who sent you?”

    Nothing.

    Harmony: “Sir.”

Still no response as he drove along.

Harmony: “BB this isn’t the way to the hotel.”

Bette: “I realize that. We’re heading south.”

    Bette/Harmony: “The beach?”

The driver just nodded yes and kept driving. Before long they were pulling up to a small private beach overlooking a cliff. There was a beautiful pine alter with white drapes blowing in the wind. Also there stood all their friends and family as they exited the car. Helena stepped forward and handed them each a single yellow rose. As she handed Bette hers she leaned in and whispered in her ear.

    Helena: “Surprise.”

Bette was floored. She always believed Helena hated her and wouldn’t think twice of screwing her royally. She, obviously, was wrong. Angelica led the way down the aisle with yellow rose petals. As directed the ladies began to head down the isle. As they neared the front alter Harmony noticed something familiar. A Mohawk chieftain stood up front in full dress. It was just the way her parents were married, as ill-fated as that was. She immediately looked at Bette who was sporting the happiest grin she had worn in a long time. The two neared the front and everyone sat as the ceremony began. The two looked gorgeous as they stared into each others eyes. Harmony had her hair out and her flowing locks blew in the wind. Bette looked equally as breathtaking as she wore a white 50′s style dress that stopped tastefully at the knee. Her hair was pulled up showing off her long slender neck. The ceremony was a mix of traditional American culture and true Mohawk tradition. It was a beautiful display of their love. Tina sat in the back near tears thinking of what she and Bette had. And the great mistake she made letting her go. A single dove was released at the conclusion and everyone clapped and applauded. They had finally done it. It was official, they were now Mrs. & Mrs. Porter-Scott. The Rolls was still waiting for them to take them to the Planet after they went home to change.

Reception and Honeymoon to some (wink wink).

    1. WTF…why did they (Tina & Roxanne) wait until the eve…or better yet minutes before the wedding to pull this ish…where the hell was Henry? I thought they were playing Ozzie & Harriett. Talk about drama…I am glad neither one caved. Please continue.

    2. Well right from the start you`ve shown these two made for each other….Unfortunitly Tina now sees what she had, and lost….sad but true!…as for Roxy…she picked her timing!..and again sadly she picked their wedding day to make that choice….But the chapter was great….and this may one of the only stories that i like that Bettes with someone other than Tina….Thanks…
