On the counter was a note from Tina:
Let’s talk.

She folded the note up and tossed it aside as she heard the knock on the door.
Bette opened the door with a smile on her face. Helena waited on the other side of the door, with her arm behind her back. She was wearing a pair of crème colored pants suit, with an olive top under it.
“You look beautiful. I’m sure the people at the meeting couldn’t even begin to think straight.”
“But you’re the only one I’m looking to impress. These are for you.” Helena pulled her arm back from behind herself and presented bouquet of flowers, “Gardenia’s your favorite, right?” Bette nodded at the gesture.
“You didn’t have to…”
“But I wanted to.”
“Come in.”
Helena moved in, closing the door behind her, “So, we have a grant for a development.”
“You never told me what the development was.”
“An art center for inner city youths. Speaking of which, I know that you said you don’t want to work with someone you care about, but I’d love it if you’d work with me as director.” Helena saw the apprehension in Bette’s face, “Before you say anything, I’m approaching this not as a woman who is completely enamored with you, but as a business professional. You are the most dedicated, cultured, and intelligent woman I know. I would be honored to have you work with me. My mother has always said that she would love to see us put our passions together, other than the way we’ve been doing that lately.” Helena winked.
“How is mom?”
“Her mobility is getting better and better every day. She’s still as vibrant and as much a firecracker as always.”
“Good.”
“You never answered me.”
“Oh…I’m sorry. What did you ask again?
“Bette…”
“Helena…”
“Bette, I think you’d be a great addition.”
“I’ll do it.”
“You will?”
“Yes. For you.”
Helena grabbed Bette and pulled her into a hug. It was the type of hug that you would wish would never end. Helena rubbed her nose against Bette’s and kissed her lips softly.

wohooo, that was fantabulous! yay and yay and yay…specially that part about ‘servicing’ bette. hehe, that makes me go ‘woah’ and want to run around the block and giggle the whole time. ok, it also makes me think of doing other things. now bette shouldn’t be afraid of falling in love..i personally highly recommend it.its just da bomb and so good for one’s work life and sleeping patterns! thanx astuck, more when you can:)

Hreat update Ash! But let’s put a stop to the marriage talk so soon. Bette and Helena need to enjoy the honeymoon period they are ion right now. And we’ll see how thins work when they are living together. I agree that Bette and Tina need to get out of the same house so if that means Bette moving in w/ Helena why not. PPS!
