Armed Hostility – Chapter 4
CHAPTER 4
Believe it or not, that night Carmen made a very good impression of the fabulous duo, Mister Coleridge and Mister Brown.
After all, she was smart, funny, interesting, charming and physically impressive, just like her wife.
And let’s say it, those two guys would talk a lot – when Shane wasn’t around, obviously – about how they would gladly fuck with the “wonderful lesbian couple”, as they called Shane and Carmen, sadwich manner.
A four-some, yeah.
How do I know that?
Well. I am a lawyer. I know everything.
Anyway, guess what?
One year later, Shane wasn’t just an ordinary photographer anymore. In fact, she was one of the general partners of Brown & Cole Photography.
Which meant highest visibility, duties, responsibility and a lot of money.
B&C Photography was one of Seattle’s largest and more unique indoor photography studio. 5000 square feet featuring natural light and outstanding themed photo sets.
Also, B&C made a lot of stuff. True.
It offered indoor and outdoor scenarios for all photography applications such as wedding, family, maternity, children, corporate, commercial, product, food, industrial and….
What?
No, I am not making a commercial.
Now shut the fuck up.
I’m losing the thread.
Uhm (clears her throat).
Yeah, Shane’s life was good, in those days.
And she enjoyed it wholly.
Carmen’s job as a DJ, on the other hand, was a good support.
She had stopped doing her gymnast thing because she wanted to spend more time with Shane.
Shane, by the way, was always very busy at work and, sometimes, she didn’t come home for days.
In any cases, they were still getting along well.
Maybe it was their physical attraction, maybe it was the mental connection, maybe it was simply love. I don’t know.
But they were still the most united couple I had ever met.
And now that their financial troubles were slowly blowing in the wind, they started to look for another house.
A newer, bigger, better house.
The reason was simple.
Shane came from a very poor family and from a disastrous infancy. You know, foster care, abandoning and a lot of loneliness.
Carmen’s family was welcoming, tight-knitted and all, but it wasn’t rich at all, no.
And both Shane and Carmen were very ambitious about their future expectations.
And they both were used to fight a lot to achieve every single crumble of bread.
So one nice Sunday afternoon, they were driving around in the country, not far away from the city.
It was a cloudy, very romantic day and the ocean was crashing onto the rocks.
See?
Even a lawyer can describe something intense.
Imagine the scene.
Shane driving her beloved Morgan, Carmen sitting by her side and whispering something into her ear.
Carmen patting Shane’s thigh, asking her to stop, because she’s seen something really interesting.
The house of her dreams.
