    Chapter 9

    CHAPTER 9
    The desire to kiss someone is an unspoken one, it is a fleeting moment, an opportunity to seize when two people reach a deep level of connection. 
    A quiet moment,  an emotional situation when a sustained gaze sends an intimate message.
    Bette was looking intensely at the blonde. She was enjoying the feel of Tina’s fingers exploring her face. It was done with an unimaginable tenderness. How she wanted the blonde to see her at this moment! How she wanted her to see the desire in her eyes!
    Bette’s breath caught in her throat for a split second and when she released it, she exhaled her request:
    "Can I kiss you?" she breathed.
    The blonde lifted her head as if to look in Bette’s eyes and a gentle smile appeared on her face. It was all Bette needed, Tina had accepted. 
    She moved closer to the blonde and slowly placed her hands lightly on either side of her face. She took in the sight in front of her, beautiful and fragile. Her face continued to get closer, her eyes looked down at the blonde’s pink lips. Bette could have sworn she saw them quiver.
    She gently rubbed Tina’s nose with hers and moving her head she brushed her lips over her cheekbones without firmly kissing them.
    Tina closed her eyes at the contact. She could feel her breath on her skin.
    Bette’s mouth moved up and the brunette was now delicately kissing her eyelids. With each kiss she deposited, Bette wished for each kiss to release Tina’s eyes from their darkness. Their breathing were shallow. They did not want anything to disturb the moment they were sharing.
    Bette stepped closer again, her hands remained on either side of Tina’s face. She liked the feeling of intimacy the gesture brought. Her nose brushed past Tina’s again as she tilted her head. Their lips were lined up, only a breath separating them. Bette parted her lips slightly and made contact with Tina’s, softly at first and as the kiss lingered on, their lips pressed more firmly.
    Bette pulled away a mere millimetres and whispered on Tina’s lips, "ok?". Tina nodded.
    Their lips made contact again. Both women were relishing the softness of each other’s mouth, the lightness of the kiss.
    Tentatively Bette drew the tip of her tongue and touched it to Tina’s lips. The blonde responded by parting them. Their tongues touched slightly, Tina let out a short breath in Bette’s mouth.
    Their mouths sought each other out again and tongues explored in a light licking motion. Their lips were moving against each others never parting. As the kiss deepened, Tina’s hands reached up and lost themselves in Bette’s hair.
    Bette placed her hands on Tina’s hips and pulled her into her body.  Her thumbs ventured under Tina’s top and stroke the bare skin under it.
    A light moan escaped from the two women at the same time. Their heads were swirling as they lost themselves in the moment.
    They slowed the kiss but never parted. Their minds concentrated on moving their lips and tongues, trying to feel each little nerve signal that was being sent to their brains.
    They slowly explored each other’s mouth, enjoying the sweet taste of the other, letting all their emotions pour into the act.
    Finally, they parted. Their foreheads rested against one another. They were breathless, their eyes closed. Bette took Tina’s right hand and without losing contact with her forehead, turned her head slightly as she kissed each finger in turn.
    "You are fabulous!" she whispered.
    They embraced tightly, never wanting to let go and stood in the middle of the gallery amidst the "Wonders of Nature", having just discovered the most wondrous experience.
    Souls live in our breath and kissing brings our souls together combining them for Eternity.
