    B&T Beginning

    It was a perfect nightone of those one in a million nights where every star in the sky was visible to the naked eye, everything was absolutely perfect.  Bette had set a dinner in the park and everything was going exactly as she had planned.  But how could anything go wrong with Tina by her side?  The red and white blanket was just big enough for the two girls to lie side by side and stare up at the twinkling sky.

     

    As Bette gazed at the sky, she tried to think of just how many times her and Tina had lied like this in the park, but the times were countless.  They had done this almost every Sunday for the past nine years.  Ever since their freshman year of high school, Tina had been Bette’s best friend, and Bette Tina’s.  She remembered how scared she was to come out to Tina, much less confess her love for her.  She was sure that she would lose her best friend if she told her she was in love with her.  And Tina was the only person that meant anything to her.  Bette let out a little giggle when she recalled Tina’s response to her coming out.  “Well it’s about time you told me!  Alice said she caught out making out with Haley Smith a month ago!”

     

    “What’s so funny?  What are you thinking?” asked Tina, bringing Bette back to reality.

     

    “I was just thinking back on some of our high school days,” Bette said letting out another chuckle.

     

    “Like what?” replied Tina adding in her own giggle.

     

    Bette propped herself up on one elbow and looked down at Tina with a big smirk on her face.  “Hmmlike the time I caught you and Josh Springs about to do it at that Christmas party!”  This time, Bette busted out in full laughter.

     

    “Ugh.Bette!  Don’t laugh!!  Don’t think I forgot about the beach party when you were soo trashed that I caught you making out with Josh Springs tooMs. I’m-A-*****.”

     

    “Whatev Tdon’t get me started on all those nasty jock guys you made out with slash dated in high school.” Said Bette matter of factly.

     

    “Whatev?  Too tired to say the whole word?  And don’t think that I don’t know every single dirty girl you hooked up with, including the ones you think I don’t know about because you were ‘too embarrassed’ to tell me.”
