Becoming Dana Fairbanks: Chapter 29
Chapter 29
Boring dinners were not new to Dana– whether it was a charity event her mom coordinated or a work function of her dad’s.
This one, however, was different than all those past dinners. Whereas with previous functions all Dana really had to do was make sure she didn’t spill anything on her dress or embarrass her parents, tonight was all about Dana and her career. She had to mingle and laugh at jokes she didn’t find funny. She was finding herself having a new found respect for her mother for putting up with these things every month.
“Here you go,” Harrison said handing Dana a drink.
“Thanks,” Dana said before taking a sip. She sputtered a bit and looked up at Harrison in disbelief. “There’s alcohol in this,” she said in a harsh whisper.
“Damn straight there is dear,” Harrison taking a sip of his own drink. “You need to relax.”
“I’m not twenty-one yet….”
“Dana, as your friend, please just drink the drink. You’ll feel better trust me.”
“Fine, but no more for me or you Harrison. I know how you get around open bars,” Dana said with her first real, relaxed smile of the night. If she had to act straight, there wasn’t anyone she’d rather be straight with than Harrison.
“Mio,” Harrison asked, feigning shock at the accusation?
“Yeah you, Pepe,” Dana replied.
Before they could continue, Conrad came over to them with another gentleman.
“There is the happy couple,” Dana’s agent said with huge smile. “Mr. Reeves please meet Dana Fairbanks and Harrison Blake. Dana this is Evan Reeves, a rep from Nike.”
After a few moments of handshakes and ‘hellos,’ Mr. Reeves said, “Conrad has been telling me great things about you Ms. Fairbanks.”
“Please, call me Dana,” the athlete asked politely.
“Alright then, Dana. I caught your match at Stanford last week, I was very impressed. You’re a junior correct?”
“Yes sir,” Dana replied.
“Well, as I was telling Conrad, if you keep playing the way you have been, I don’t see why next year when you graduate Nike wouldn’t want you to join our team…” Mr. Reeves stopped suddenly and signaled someone over. A second later they were joined by a woman. “This is my wife Charlotte Reeves. Charlotte meet: Conrad, Dana, and Harrison. Dana and Harrison play tennis at UCLA.”

I am so happy to see this story back! I definitely missed it I hope to read more!
It is so great to see you back, anionayo!! Thank you so much for finding some time to update this great story. Love the Harrison/Dana interaction at the beginning. It’ll be interesting to see how far Conrad pushes them as a couple. The conversation with the gang around the pool was written perfectly. Dana was so cute in her surprise about the gang coming to her matches. I am glad she is going to give Pride a shot and I am sure Alice will keep her promise. Excellent!! Thanks!! I look forward to more.
Great chapter. Dana and Harrison acting like straight couple always make me lol. They’re so cute :) And I love Alice’s idea because it makes Dana embarrassing, and embarrassed Dana is soo cute too! Thank you soo much, anionayo!
Hi, me too! Great to see you back. I am so happy to see a continuation of this story. Thanks and PPS!
Woop woop you’re back!!! I still heart this story immensely and am so glad to see you’re back. I hope that Pride doesn’t take a nasty turn wth Dana being outed and blaming Alice and if it does I hope it ends in some angry make up sex…what a girl can dream right? PPS!
