    Synopsis
Artist Beatrice Pastone, known to everyone as Beat lives in Los Angeles with her wife, documentary filmmaker, Trish Kender.

Beat is contacted by a good friend the director of the Peoples Center for the Arts (PCA) in LA. During an exhibit of paintings on loan from eccentric millionaire, Paul Pearson, it is discovered that several paintings are forgeries. With the museum director and the museums reputations at stake, Beat is called in to help.

Beat and Trish investigate the matter with help from an assorted casts of friends: Beats cousin Katerina, a soulful Jazz singer with a voice that could have made Billie Holliday cry; Shawn, a player whose charm and ***** appeal can get them past any desk clerk in the country; Diana , a rising star on the LPGA tour whose celebrity can get them invitations into places that would normally be off limits; and Eileen an investigative journalist and writer who always knows a source, no matter what the topic.

As they look into things, Beat and Trish begin to suspect that the culprit is Pearsons spoiled, drug-addicted daughter, Harriet, who is a caricature of a human being. They discover that Harriet has been selling off her fathers paintings to support the drug habit shared by herself and her scum-bag boyfriend, Tommy. They have been helped by, Frankfort, a member of the PCAs board and an embezzler.

Hoping to dissuade the friends, Harriet and Tommy kidnap Trish, drug her and have her posed in X-Rated pictures. These photos are sent to Beat who is angry, but believes Trish when she says that she did not pose for the pictures.

They show the pictures to Shawn who recognizes the model who is posed with Trish. With the help of Eileen and Diane, they find the model who confesses that she was paid to pose in the pictures with a knocked out Trish.

    Beat plans revenge.

Beat and Trish find the now poor and disinherited Harriet stoned in the back alley behind some cheap bar too trashed to realize that alley rats are crawling over her. Beat goes to her Jaguar and gets out a bottle of champagne. She gives Harriet a good swift kick in the gut and slowly pours the champagne over her smelly body.

Heres to having the last laugh, Harriet, she says as she and Trish walk back to the Jag.
