Tina: Lets just go to our table so I can sit… then you can get us a drink… and remember I can drive home… so have a drink or two…
Bette: I think I may hold you to that tonight…
Tina: Wow the people are pouring in here now…
Bette: I see that… lets get you seated… we are right in the middle of everyone…
Tina: Wonderful… you are going to be ok… right babe…
Bette: I will be fine… I don’t want you getting upset… I don’t care what he says… if we must just tune him out… shit he has you sitting right next to him…
Tina: I told you we bonded yesterday…
Bette: Wait till you see how fast that bond dries up… what can I get you to drink..
Tina: Juice is fine…
Bette: Ok I’ll be back as soon as I can…
Bette walks in the direction of the bar… and so was the rest of the room… and as her luck would have it… who walks right next to her…
Melvin: Elizabeth… what are you doing here…
Bette: I could ask you the same question…
Melvin: I asked you to dinner late night… where were you…
Bette: You didn’t ask me to dinner you told me to meet you for dinner… and not one mention of Kit or my wife…
Melvin: Stop talking crazy… your wife… your not over that gay stuff yet…
Bette: No I am not… and listen good… I don’t intend to get over that gay stuff…
Melvin: You are a Yale Graduate… you could have any man here you wanted… just look around…
Bette: You don’t get it do you…
Melvin: These men are all in the movie industry… they all make good money…
Bette: That’s funny… when Kit wanted to get into the music industry, you did your best to discourage her… and now its ok for me to find someone in the movie industry… too late… I already did… if you will excuse me I need a drink…
Melvin walks away… looks around and sees Tina sitting all alone at a table… walking over to her…
Melvin: Tina… how are you this evening…
Tina: Oh hi Melvin… I’m fine… how are you…
Melvin: Tell me why did your husband leave you here all alone…
Tina: Melvin… I don’t have a husband… and I am not alone… did you enjoy the movie…
Melvin: I didn’t see it yet… I was busy all after noon in conference calls… so by the time I finished, the movie started… so I’ll have to catch it when I get back home… did you see it…
Tina: (Thinking… that’s explains a lot) Yes… it was amazing… the acting, the singing… everything…
Melvin: I knew that new young singer would be perfect for this movie… so glad I suggested her…
Tina: I think you’re going to be surprised… they fired her a while ago… she demanded too much and worked to little… they did get another singer… and she is brilliant… she played the part perfect…
Melvin: Really… why didn’t I know of this…
Tina: I don’t know… I’m sure all of the necessary contracts were processed…
Melvin: Knowing Anthony… you are correct… he is very professional…
Tina: Yes he is… and he is a very nice man…
Melvin: He is… I always wanted to fix him up with my daughter Elizabeth… I may tonight… I saw her near the bar…
Tina: Oh you did… oh there’s Jill…
Jill: Hi Tee… (Looking over at Melvin… as she leans over to kiss her cheek)… OMG she was perfect…
Jim: Hi Tina… (Also kissing her)… what a movie… Anthony has a winner… I bet it gets nominated for best picture and best actress…
Jill: I also have that feeling… How are you tonight Melvin… oh this is my husband Jim… Jim this is Melvin…
Melvin: Hi Jim… you have a beautiful and talented wife…
Jim: Yes I do… thank you… Jill I’ll be back… I’ll get us a drink… Tina can I get you anything…
Tina: Thanks… but I ordered already…
Jill sits next to Tina…
Jill: So anything new…
Tina: Not yet… but I have a good feeling pretty soon…
Jill: I also have that feeling…
Melvin: Do you happen to know where Anthony is…
Tina: They are talking to the press…
Jill: They were just about wrapping it up… they should be in here real soon…
Bette was walking back to the table… takes a long drink and walks over and places Tina’s drink in front of her…
Melvin: Elizabeth… do you know these ladies…
Bette: (Smiling)… as a matter of fact I do… how are you Jill… I saw Jim trying to make his way to the bar…
Jill: I see you made it…
Bette: I was there a lot longer… Tee I got you Cranberry…is that ok…
Tina: Its fine…
Melvin: Tina… you know my daughter Elizabeth…
Tina: Oh yes I do…
Bette: Melvin… Tina is my wife…
