Taking the pain away with love.

Bette was awake at seven; she could no longer stand the throbbing in her hand. She gently kissed Tina and touched her face.

Bette: T? Baby wake up.
Tina: Uhm..
Bette: Tina I need you to wake up.
Tina: suddenly remembering Bettes injury woke up. What? Bette whats the matter?
Bette: she had tears in her eyes. My hand it really hurts this morning.
Tina: Is it bad?
Bette: Yeah, worse than last night.
Tina: Oh god sweetie, let me see. Tina took a look at Bettes hand, the bruising was a lot worse, and her knuckles were red, black and blue. The cuts were opened back up. The swelling was the worse; you couldnt see where her knuckles were.

Tina: Can you move your fingers? Does this hurt? Tina ask her these questions as she examined the hand. Bette cringed.
Bette: God I feel so stupid. Hitting someone. And this is what I get.
Tina: Well this probably mild compared to what Nickis feeling this morning. She smiled at Bette.
Bette: I hope so.
Tina: Now lets get dressed and Im taking you to the office and getting this taken care of.

Tina and Bette got in the shower together; Tina helped Bette wash, and then drying her off.
Tina: I could really take advantage of this you know. She winked at Bette.
Bette: T, I will let you after we get me something for pain. God Im going to owe you big time.
They dressed Tina helped Bette get her jeans buttoned and zipped.
Bette: This is too weird; usually youre trying to get them off.
Tina: Id rather and I will later. She kissed her stomach and then her mouth. Lets go.

Bette grabbed her keys and went to her car. Tina just looked at her.
Tina: I dont think so Porter, youre not driving.
Bette: Oh *****, I forgot.
Tina: Ha Ha! I get to drive, I get to drive. Tina playfully chanted. Sticking her tongue out at Bette. Bette was always the driver; she had to be in control.
Bette: Put that back in you mouth, before I take you up on the offer. Laughing.

They got in Tinas SUV and went to her office.
Tina: she was smiling on the drive to her office thinking of Bette.
Bette: What are you smiling at?
Tina: Just thinking of you so helpless. Its a different side of you baby, I like it. I like being able to take care of you.
Bette: Well Tina I mean this in a purely non hateful way, but ***** you!
Tina: laughing. You hate it dont you.
Bette: Yes, I hate it. Im at your disposal.
Tina: wickedly laughing. YES!!! She said as she raised her fist in the air.

They got to the clinic and Bette took her to the radiology department.
Tina: Hi Mike, this is my partner Bette Porter.
Mike: Hi, nice to meet you Bette.
Bette: You to Mike.
Tina: Well she needs an x-ray; get me three or four views, attention to these knuckles and this area. She showed him Bettes hand.
Mike: Jeez, whod you hit?
Bette: Uh well, just a stupid mistake.
Mike: I hope they got the message.
Tina: Im sure they did. Looking at Bette. Ill go to my office, when youre done could you bring them to me?
Mike: Of course.

Tina kissed Bettes cheek and left her with Mike.
Bette came into Tinas office soon after and went up and hugged her.
Bette: I love you Tina.
Tina: I love you too baby.
Mike came in then.
Tina: Ok, lets take a look. Thanks Mike. Mike left.

Tina put the x-rays up on the view box and studied them intently. Turning them this way and that. Looking at them closer. Bette loved watching her work, she was so focused.

Bette: Well doc what do you see?
Tina: I dont see any fractures.
Bette: What?
Tina: No breaks but a possible displacement or hairline fracture here. Pointing to the x-ray. But its so swollen its hard to tell. Were going to get this cleaned and wrapped up in a splint, and re-x-ray in two days. Ill be able to tell more then when the swelling goes down. Well get you an antiflammatory and some pain meds.

Bette: What are we going to tell our moms?
Tina: The truth Bette, you were defending me and our friends. Its okay.

Tina took her to the casting exam room and formed a splint to her hand and arm. She wrapped it an ace bandage.
Tina: You have to leave this on until we can re-x-ray it. We dont want it to move if it is cracked or displaced.
Bette: I feel like a fool.
Tina kissed her and took her good hand.
Tina: Lets go home.

They stopped and got the pain medication and then stopped at the Planet to get some lunch. Alice was there.
Tina: Hi Al.
Alice: Hey guys, hows Sugar Ray today?
Bette: Im okay.
Alice: looking at her hand. Yeah it looks like it. ***** Porter you hit her hard. All that working out and boxing training paid off.
Bette: I guess.

Alice: Well word is Nicki looks like *****; her eye brow and lip are split. They needed stitches. Plus shes swollen and black and blue. Her friend Mandy said she wont come out of the house.
Bette: She has a friend?
Tina: Wonders never cease.
Alice: Well Mandy thinks shes more humiliated than anything.
Tina: Hopefully she learned her lesson.
Alice: yeah, dont ***** with Sugar Ray Porter.

They all laughed. After lunch they went home and Tina gave Bette a pain pill.
Tina: This might make you sleepy so go watch some TV and relax. Ill come in and check on you in awhile.
Bette: We have to be at the airport at 6:15.
Tina: I know, youll be fine by then. Go! Im going to get the guest room and office ready.

Tina finished getting rooms ready and went to check on Bette. Bette was lying down on the couch, Tina went to her. Bette looked at her with a gazed look. She moved to Tina and put her head in her lap.
Tina: Is the pill working?
Bette: Oh yeah, its great, no pain. Smiling.

Tina could tell she was a little high from the pain pill. Bette turned her head and kissed Tinas stomach, pulling up her shirt. She buried her face in Tinas crotch, and then looked up to her.
Bette: Take off your clothes T, please.
Tina: What? Bette you need to rest. Lay down.
Bette: I want your baby, come on. I want to taste you, please?
Tina: Its the meds working on you, relax and sleep.
Bette: looking at her with pleading eyes, she started pulling on her shorts, unzipping them.
Tina: Okay, baby. She gave in.

Tina undressed; as soon as she got naked Bette pushed her down and dove for Tina. She kissed her deeply as her hand went straight for the treasure between her legs. She slid down to the wet center and let her mouth enjoy the taste of Tina, her lover. Tina gasped.
Tina: Bette baby, please slow down.
Bette heard her and looked up.
Bette: God I love yoummm..youre so beautiful..mm.you taste so good.
Tina: Kiss me Bette.

Bette slid up and kissed her she then made her way back down Tinas body, licking her ***** and pinching the hardened nipples. She went further down and her mouth devoured Tina. They lay on the sofa wrapped in each other. Bette fell asleep then, Tina pulled the throw she kept on the sofa over them and napped with her.

Tina woke it was 4:00. She slipped away from Bette, Bette woke up.
Bette: Hey baby, what time is it?
Tina: 4:00 we better get ready to go to the airport.
Bette: kissing her. Mmm okay.
Tina: How are you feeling? Any pain?
Bette: Im better. That pill was good stuff.
Tina: laughing. Yeah we wont let you take that until bedtime next time.
Bette: Good idea.

They got to the airport to wait. Maggie and Erin were arriving at 6:15. And Katherine was set to land at 6:50.
Tina: Baby hows your hand?
Bette: Better I think. She was still hurting but she wasnt going to let Tina know. Bette leaned in to Tina and whispered.
Bette: You want to join me in the ladies room? It will give us something to do while we wait. She licked her ear.
Tina: Bette! No lets wait here. Be good.
Bette: It’ll be good I promise. Winking at her.
Tina: Jeez baby later okay?
Bette: Promise? As she slid her hand up her thigh. Tina stopped her hand and held it.
Tina: Promise. Ill hold this so it doesnt stray.

Bette laughed, they sat waiting, talking. The flight arrived and they saw Maggie and Erin coming toward them. Hugs were exchanged all around.

Maggie: Its so good to see you two.
Erin: What happened Bette, looking at her hand? You mess up somebody for hitting on my sister.
Tina: Well tell you all about it later.
Bette: yeah, I just want to tell the story once. By the way Boo youre looking good; you let your hair grow out?
Erin: yeah, I just let it grow and took out the pink.
Tina: I like it, you look older more grown up.
Maggie: Dont tell her that, she thinks shes old enough for everything already.

They visited as they waited for Bettes mom. Tina could tell how anxious Bette was. She excused herself and pulled Bette aside.

Tina: Baby are you okay?
Bette: Sure, not much pain, better I told you.
Tina: Im not talking about you hand. Your mom? Youre okay right? Dont you feel closer than ever with her?
Bette: Yes I do. I finally have a mom, I love it. I can share my life with her now, but you know, weve done all of this bonding over the phone and email.
Tina: Youll be fine.
Bette: I hope she likes me? Is that strange, wanting your mom to like you?
Tina: She loves you Bette. It will be great. I love you, mom and Erin love you.
Bette: Okay Im fine, deep breath and lets go.
Tina pulled her close hugging her; she kissed her cheek then whispered in her ear.
Tina: I think you are absolutely wonderful, I love and adore you. No worries.
Bette kissed her cheek and whispered back.
Bette: Thank you for loving me. T I love you.

They went back and got Maggie and Erin and made their way to the gate Katherine was to arrive at.
She was walking towards Bette, with tears in her eyes as did Bette.
Katherine grabbed Bette and pulled her in to hug her, they were both crying now.
Tina watched and was crying too, even Maggie and Erin had tears.
Katherine: Oh god Bette, Ive missed you so.
Bette: Me too mama, me too.

Tina looked at the two of them realizing where Bette got her beauty. Katherine was tall and lean with classic features and large brown eyes, she smiled the same smile as Bette, Tina was looking at what Bette would look like in the future, the only difference was the hair, Katherines was dark brown but straight and short. She was a beautiful woman.
She was one of those people that look stuck up but really wasnt. Bette pulled away and held her hand out to Tina. Tina took it and Bette pulled her to her.

Bette: Mama this is Tina, Dr. Tina Kennard.
Katherine pulled her in and hugged her. She kissed her cheek and whispered.
Katherine: Thank you so much Tina for giving my daughter back to me.
Tina: Youre welcome Ms Porter.
Katherine: Call me Katherine please.
Tina: Okay Katherine.

Tina turned and introduced her family. Greetings all around
They loaded up in the SUV and headed to dinner.

Katherine: Bette are you hurt, whats wrong with you hand?
Bette: Ill tell you at dinner.
They went for Chinese, Erins choice and everyone agreed. They were seated at the table when Erin spoke up.

Erin: So Bette tell us, whose ***** did you kick?
Maggie: Erin! Watch you mouth.
Katherine: Not on my account. Please be your selves. So Bette answer you sister in law, whos ***** did you kick. That broke the ice and everyone laughed.
Bette told them the story.

Tina: Mind you it was after she had had 8 or 10 tequila shots and she has an ongoing feud with Nicki. Bette had warned her before, but it was so cool, I was proud of her; shes got a hellava punch.
Bette: Yeah, look what it got me. Holding up her hand.

They went home visited and got up on everyones lives. Bette and Tina were telling them the plans so far for the ceremony.

Maggie: Who are these fan fiction writers?
Bette: They are our friends, more like family.
Tina: Without them we wouldnt be.
Bette: They are a wonderful group, the we owe big time.
Tina: And they will make our reception a damn good party for all. Some of them are helping out. Hotpepper (Amandamg) is catering with the help of aaTnB, BTluver, and any one else she can recruit. She has promised lots of fruit, finger foods. And lots of mudslides, slippery nipples and a full bar.

Erin: This sounds so fun.
Tina: Im sure it will be. Kit, Vanessa, Alice, Dana and Shane are helping too. Imagine what they will come up with. Laughing.
Erin: Oh yeah, fun, fun, fun!!!!
Maggie: Oh my god, are they getting approval from you and Bette I hope.
Tina: Yes, mom relax, they must get approval from us or you guys.
Bette; Mom, they are all our friends and they are a little wild at times. But youll love them.
Erin: theyre great!

Maggie: Well I need to get some rest for our big day tomorrow.
Tina: Yeah, were going shopping fro clothes, flowers and whatever.
They all said their goodnights.
Bette and Tina in their bedroom. They climbed into bed.

Tina: I really like your mom baby.
Bette: Shes great isnt she?
Tina: And so beautiful, I know where you get that great smile now. She kissed her.

Tina: now I need to exam you hand. Tina unwrapped it and looked it over. Move your fingers. Okay now does this hurt worse than before?
Bette: No, about the same.
Tina: Ok its the same, swelling is a little better. She wrapped it back in the splint. You want a pain pill?
Bette: No Im okay. I think you can take my mind off of it.

Tina: pulling Bette to her and kissed her, her hands slipping under her tank top. Ill try.
Bette: Mmm, baby you know just how to take the pain away. They lay on the bed facing each other. Kissing and caressing. Bettes good hand was sliding down Tinas body, finding her wet treasure. She slipped her fingers in and started stroking Tina. Tina was trying to maneuver herself to let Bette be comfortable with only one hand. Tina stopped; she kissed Bette and looked her in the eye.
