How stupid was I? I had actually thought that cleaning up my life would help me win Bette back.
But I knew that I couldn’t blame her for any of this.
The last thing she said to me three months ago rung through my thoughts, “You broke my heart.”
I had broken her heart, I had hurt her so deeply. Now, the only thing I could do was to let her be happy, and I was willing to put my own emotions aside and do it all for her.
***
Tina. Tina Kennard. What kind of name was Tina?
I wondered what it was about her that Bette liked so much. I daren’t say she loved Tina, or did she? The sound of Bette’s words still rung through my mind, “I started seeing someone.” Was everything that we had shared so forgettable; that kiss, our laughs, our brief touches, our unspoken moments of closeness…
Then again, it could have all just been in my head.
I should be grateful to have this second chance at friendship with Bette, but there was still a part of me that couldn’t bring myself to let go of the possibility.
The possibility that she might love me.

I escaped work a little early to make my way down to one of our favorite sandwich shops in the city. I had a lunch date with Bette. I arrived and slid into one of the corner seats beside the window. I wore my large vintage sunnies and was day-dreaming quietly out the window as I waited.
I hated to admit, but I was nervous.
Although this definitely wasn’t the first time I was having a meal with her, it would be the first time I was seeing her after everything that had happened.
I could spot Bette from a mile away; the way she walked, the way her hair moved in the breeze, the way she swung her arms so carelessly beside her. As she approached, I realized that she was not alone. Her hand was laced through someone else’s.

I love this story but Helena and Tasha I can’t get into. Tasha is just to conservative and boring for HeLena. The pairing don’t mash well. Helena seem more likely to go out and play the field. Where is Shane….will she show up sometime soon? pps
Well long time no read soori chick…ive recently moved house and busy with work and college…Im loving the direction you’re taking this story in gosh i Love BeLena…So no more Chloe eh…ive had to catch up on like 3 chapters at least.I wonder will she fall back into her old life and Tina and Bette the blonde bimbo lmao classic there…The smell of her on Bette’s clothes must have been hard.Cant wait for the update btw hows things on your end?
that such a random pairing, but i can’t wait to read more…pps
btw, the use of “the blonde bimbo” inspired me to write a story….
I knew it, but don’t let H hurt Tasha. And your description of Tina was hilarious…say it ain’t so that B and Tina are together…I can’t wait for the four of them to have dinner. PPS
Hey There… OMG… that was freaking awesome… such a nice twist… hmmmm distraction… and a very nice way to blend the notions of jealousy… I guess two can play at that game huh… LOL… this is just getting better and better… Wow… ok… so yeah I love how you externalize everything… ‘Helena’ is our eyes and ears throughout this story and you do an amazing job showing us her inner workings… and just how ‘love’ feels from the inside… just amazing… keep it up my friend… ttys… love and hugs, JC (Latin Nephew to those Salsa Angels)
Ok, I see it’s going to be a while before my Belena can actually be. Now we have two people to get rid of instead of just one. How is that going to work? Nice twist. I never would have paired those two together. Hmmmm… Now, I have to see what you do with this. So far, so good. You’re doing great with writing this from Helena’s POV. I like that! Keep it coming. PPS!
You got me on this one. And I must say I love it. This was a twist that I didn’t expect. But I can’t say I’m against it, because I’m not. Helena needs to have some joy in her life. And as Helena admitted “just pure unadulterated attraction” and I do like the sound of that. You did a marvelous job on this! Thanks for ths update.
Sack…WOW…as always…you provided a great chapter…I must say…I was never sold on the possibility of Belena..but girl..you so good at this that it’s rubbing off….PPS….don’t know how long I can wait:)
I love Helena,LOved her with Dylan,Can’t like her with Bette. There is a lot of story with them, but love Bette with Tina. Love how a writer can pair a couple and how you can make a beautiful love story. Do love how you are writing this through Helena eyes. Thanks for posting and I’m waiting for more of this story.
