Then arrived another envelope. A white one. The tickets for Shane and Alice.

The note: the part that was missing.

"…would love to be there by your side.

    B."

I know that this could sound ridiculous to you but…She knew exactly how to warm my heart.

Yes…I know, I know what you thought, but see…I don’t considered it cruel.

It gave me peace. T made me missed her terribly, but also, it calmed me down…

But , listen, …Once she sent me papers and crayons.

But I really loved when she sent me books. You would found my smile dressed to party when I found the risked, circulated, colored … letters of my nickname spread all over the pages of the books that she sent me. First all the T´s in a page, then 12, 15, 20 or 2,3 pages ahead, the I´s , the N´s and…

On the A´s  I was already missing her game, her enchainment.

Besides, my rational part kept singing to me when I found the marked passages at the book pages. Her calligraphy expressing some thought that she considered it, :“Look what you’re missing ´cause you’re not with her, Tina! She’s so perceptive…bright!”. And that thought…her cleverness kept arousing me.

    …

Jesus…Now that I told myself louder…What kind of rational side is that?!

    Anyway…

See? She knew exactly how to warm me up.

And…No… No…Forget it…You just can’t convince me that this is cruelty or that she was manipulating me.

For sure I don’t recommend it. But I already knew those days that our collision was something designed by destiny and time …And these presents it didn’t make me sad.

I was living my life. I was not there… waiting… waiting… waiting… for her.I was studying a lot, going out, having fun… I was just receiving her thoughts with open heart. A heart that didn’t stop to beat her name.

Eight months later, after I came home, with THE boy from a party. I pushed him on the bed, but before I did that I saw a box and a note on my bed.

    I promptly recognized Alice’s calligraphy.

The minute I saw the box was the minute I dispensed THE boy.

I came back to the room and took the note.

    “Poor boy… Coudn´t compete with a box…

    Dear, Chris:

    I smell … Bette Porter.

    I smell trouble, Tina!

Ok! Ok! I don’t smell anymore! Do what you want, Tina, but please…please…ask Bette if she has a nice friend to introduce me, when you meet her!

    Love ya! Al.”

    I remember:

    The box.

    Inside.

    A key.

    A map.

    A car key.

    Tickets to fly.

    A pair of Havaianas.

A note enrolled on a pen drive.

"If I were you, I would begin this journey to meet me.

Myself and I  being Me are desperately in need for your presence.

    Bring summer clothes, but don’t forget a pair of yoga pants and something for a cold breeze. Also  a pair of sneakers  and the Brazilian flip flops I gave you, the havainas;

But mainly, mainly, dear, bring the  black bikini …You know the one  I am talking about…That one that when you dress, you keep reminding us, mortals, that God, beyond everything, is an artist.Yes, that one you wore in a sunny day by the pool, when you killed the first of my seven lives.

    B.

PS: The pendrive carries music to your short trip by car… Hope you like it.

PS II: I’ve been living to miss you, but I will understand your absence if you…"

Alice took me to the airport.

“And please, Chris! You promised me! A name…”

    1. OMG… :-O (trying to catch my breathe after reading this post 3 times in a row…) Now, slowwly, breaaathing : “hhhhmmmmm” – Well, seems that Tina is not the only one who suffers from withdrawal ;-) — good thing though :-)) ’cause Bette HAS to do the first move, since she obviously left without adress (where has she gone : Brazil ? or the sunny place she’s waiting for Tina is just a meeting place ?) — I’m just listening to Blues divas while I read and re-read your story (try this : http://www.deezer.com/?urlIdSong=34545) and I feel my heart pounding and my head swelling like if I was Tina :-[ “What kind of rational side is that?!” … indeed !! and the last lines : no explanation, no travel preparation, just “………… I will understand your absence if you…” Alice took me to the airport”, like if she did not take the time to finish reading the note and just rushed directly to the airport : I can picture her grabbing shorts, havainas (we call them ‘tongs’, don’t ask me why) , the precious bikini, the box, perhaps one of the books Bette sent her… and shutting her door behind her without a second thought ;-) — obviously, after months of diluted colors and meaningless encounters, the need for “Almodovar” high colors and deep-rooted emotions got the upper hand on her ;-)) — well, I won’t pray you to also rush for the next post, since I know how long and difficult it can be to find the exact words to express what you want in a foreign language (this comment took me more than an hour), but I will long for the next episode of this haunting and voluptuous Ode to Love :-*

    2. Oh God Braz!!!! You keep doing this to me everytime I read a chapter from you…I can help but comment!!! ;) Amazing as always girl!!! I love the way you write!!!

    3. WOW Braz I actually got tears in my eyes reading the end of this chapter. I loved it and how you managed to have these two women send gifts to one another that had so much meaning to them both. PERFECT!!!!

    4. Oh, dear Braz: If we (Marsha & I) could describe your writing, we would come up with one word: poetic. Gosh, woman! You have a way with words that, you make us vow at you. Thank you, for reminding us that love can be richful in its meaning and that, sometimes, it goes beyond words and turns into details; perhaps they may seem minor, at first, nonsense, or out of place, but the final message is leading directly where it matters the most. Thanks & keep us hooked on B&T’s next romantic encounter. Big hugs & kisses, PPS Lucero & Marsha
