Ch 10

The pair went back to the motel where the incident took place.   It didn’t take long for Carmen to get the information out of the junior clerk.  She knew how to use her looks to her advantage.

After they got the address of one of the guys, they waited inside the living room of that guy’s apartment for him to come home.  Needless to say, it was Carmen who knew how to pick the lock! 

Shane had her gun ready; prepare to use it if anything went wrong.  They went in and swept the apartment quickly to make sure that nobody was around. 

The apartment was very untidy with dirty clothes spread around the bedroom and beer cans casually tossed on the coffee table.  It looked like a typical bachelor’s place. 

Carmen sat on the sofa, with her legs resting on the coffee table. 

“Are you going to sit there and wait for him to come home?” Shane was bemused.

“Yeah.  Why not?  I am the bait and you will wait behind the door.” Carmen replied

Their first victim came home around 6pm.  He didn’t expect to see Carmen welcoming him in his own home. 

“Surprised to see me?”

The guy wanted to turn around but stopped when he noticed Shane with a gun pointing at him.

“Fuck!”

 “Yeah, you are fucked.”  Carmen echoed in agreement.

“Got any duck tapes?” Carmen asked him.

He did not reply.  Shane nudged her gun on his back.

“In the kitchen drawer…”  He said reluctantly.  Carmen found the tape and tied it around his hands.  She then pushed him down on a chair and taped his legs together.

“What’s your name?”

Again silent.

Carmen picked up a kitchen knife and pushed in hard against his exposed neck.  

“Feeling scared?  Now tell me what’s your name.”  Carmen ordered him.

“Phil Loch.”  He turned his head to one side.   Shane searched his pocket and found his wallet.

“He is telling the truth.”  Shane told Carmen.

“Good, at least he is not as stupid as he looks.”  She flashed Shane a triumph smile.
