Something was still bothering Alice. Rather than say it, she went about her cleaning with gusto. She decided she would call Shane later. She had offered, after all. At least she knew she would get an objective point of view from the surly ladies woman.

Shane was napping on the couch when her cell phone rang. It buzzed in her back pocket and she automatically reached a hand around to pull it out to answer.
“Yeah,” she said groggily.
“Shane, were you sleeping?” She heard an agitated Alice on the other end
“Yeah, its ok. I was just taking a nap before my next appointment. What’s up?”
“Oh nothing, I just thought I would call and see what was going on, ya know, and maybe take you up on your offer to talk,” Alice said sounding more like Speedy Gonzales than herself.
“Whoa, Alice, slow down. Its no prob, I know what a big deal this is for you so its oktake your time.”
“She hasn’t called or contacted me in any way in days, Shane. I don’t know what to think. Are she and Tonya still together…. is she just avoiding me? I don’t know what to do?”
“Have you tried calling her?”
“I can’t do that! I mean she is the one with Tonya… I just can’t”
“Look, I have an idea. If I know you and Tina, you’ve been running around cleaning everything in sight. Why don’t we all go out. I mean, all of us.”
“Are you talking all of us as in me, you and Tina or all of us as in including Dana?”
“Just leave it to me, ok?”
“I don’t like this, Shane. You’re scheming something and I don’t know if I am gonna like it.”
“It’ll be ok! I promise I won’t do anything that you will regret.”
Shane hung up the phone in the middle of Alice’s next heated protest. This was going to be drastic, but if they were ever going to get all of this worked out then they all had to get together. She was a little afraid of offending Tonya by inviting Dana, but when the happiness of friends came into play and they werent doing anything about it themselves it was time for someone to make something happen. Shane opened her phone and dialed Dana’s cell. When it went to voice mail, she left a message.
