Dana had stayed up for a long time just sitting by the bed, watching Alice sleep and making plans. She got a couple hours troubled sleep on the sofa and then got up early to call the gang.
Bette and Tina were up and immediately agreed to come over. Bette still felt horribly guilty for scaring Alice away last night. Since Kit and Angus still had Angelica they were free for a few hours yet. Bette offered to stop at The Planet on the way over to pick up coffee and breakfast. Shane was groggy when she answered the phone but quickly woke up (surprising the heck out of Dana) and said she was on her way.
Bette, Tina and Shane showed up shortly thereafter and took seats in the living room. They waited impatiently for Dana to fill them in. All they knew was that Alice and Jackie had some sort of argument.
Dana took a deep breath “Alice was beaten by her girlfriend…by Jackie.” It sounded stark, but, there was no other way to say it.
The girls sat there stunned. They knew there was something wrong in the relationship, but, had no idea it was this serious.
“She…uh…When I found her, she said that she had fallen and hurt her back. I happened to get a look at it later and…uh…it was not from a fall. Someone had” Dana cleared her thought “whipped her badly. It…um…left a welt.” Dana needed a moment to compose herself. She swallowed several times and continued.
“She slept for an hour or so and woke up panicked. She kept saying that she had to get back to Jackie or she would be angry and that she didn’t mean to hurt her.” Dana could not keep the anger and upsetness out of her voice. “It’s obvious to me that the bitch hit Alice. I don’t know how long it’s been going on, but, I will do everything in my power to make sure this was the last time.”
They each felt the feelings Dana ran through last night of shock, anger and guilt.
Shane jumped up and started pacing back and forth and said in a deadly voice “I’m going to kill that fucker.”

Sorry I haven’t been commenting much lately, hun. I adore this story, and I absolutely love Protective! Dana and the rest of the group rallying around Alice. All the planning to keep her safe is great, I just hope she lets them protect her. This is great!
This is what I wanted, This way the gang want go to jail for murder. Jackie will be smart to stay away from Alice,but I don’t believe she is very smart. She love control and she thinks she has that over Alice thanks
Great to hear that you made it home ok. Poor MT, I think she is finally home too. I have a trip next month and I hope I won’t encounter any snow delay. Really glad to hear that you formulating more stories. I think one at a time is hard enough. I don’t know how the others do it. Pretty impressive. Back to this update. Oh, here comes the tennis racquet. “Dorky friend got so mature,” Hooray! I am very proud of D being all cool, calm and collected. Great plan with the gang’s help! B didn’t burn her bridges with JW. Haha ha. What an operation even including C’s cousin And Harrison’s butch friends. Now we have a small army. Would A use the pepper spray and taser? To be fair, I would rather see an one on one between D & Jackie without weapons. Mini being towed at Runyan Canyon, MaGoose, you really are very good with detail. Fantastic. I can’t wait to see how it would all work out. I do hope A would go along with the plan.
I don’t really see Alice going along with this idea very easily. Abuser’s tend to have a great amount of power over the abused. But I do have to commend the women. They showed strength and unity. This is probably the most impressive mission I have ever seen. It’s like when Tina was being stalked by the bitchy lady in season 1, when the girls had poker night, locked the doors, covered the windows, etc. I think you did a good job. They’re making Alice their priority. Jackie ain’t even worth thinking about at this point. The legal matters, police protection, relocation, and a discreet intervention. Now that all says “We love you and we’re not gonna let anything happen to you”.

-Hangs head in shame-, I knew I missed a lot when I was without my internet but only just realised that you had started posting a story. I’m so sorry I haven’t been around since the start, as a co-first story writer I know how scary the posting is. Anyway it’s been my loss not to have read this until now, I just read it all in one go and I love it. You are tackling a difficult situation so well. It’s nice to see Danish in such trustworthy hands, can’t wait to see if Dana is able to persuade Alice to stay away. Congratulations on such a great story, now I’ve found it I’m hear to stay!
Oh boy Alice will alice listen, if dana knows how to push’s alice’s buttons she can get her to listen and go from there if not it’s gonna be a long road. great update!

Just stumbled onto your story and so glad that I did, awesome frickin writing…a fair fight is just that but physical, emotional/mental abuse is a whole nother ballgame,excerting control onto another person..well hell I want to smack the bitch down and she’s just a fictional character,you got some powerful writing going. Love how the family is circling the wagons, you go after one your going after all of them!
