Bette and Tina were hosting a get-together at their house for the framily. Alice was hesitant to go because of concerns over how her friends might treat her. Each of them had visited Alice, but, it would be the first time she would see them in a group since the confrontation with Jackie at the park. She was also a bit worried because it was after the last party at Bette and Tina’s that Jackie had hurt her so badly. She was doing well with her therapy and everything, but, was anxious about how she might react to a possible reminder of that night.
It was Dana that convinced her. The party would start during the day and Angelica would be there. Dana loved how Alice’s eyes lit up whenever her Earth daughter’s name was mentioned. And when Dana offered to take her to the toy store to buy a present for Angie, well, that sealed the deal.
Dana drove Alice to the local Toys R Us and had a bit of difficulty telling Alice apart from the hyper 6-year-olds. Dana was finally able to corral her in the shockingly pink aisle that held the princesses. They were Angelica’s favorite — much to Bette’s dismay. They picked out a couple cute sets of building blocks with princesses that were the perfect size for Angie’s hands and made for kids aged 1 and up.
They arrived at Bette and Tina’s house a bit early. Dana planned it that way so Alice could be there as people arrived rather than walking into a roomful of folks.
Bette met them at the door and gave Alice a long hug before releasing her to the same from Tina. They were both trying hard to make everything seem normal, but, it was difficult since it had been so long. They figured they would just need to define a new type of normal — one that included a lot of hugs and support for Alice. Things that they should have been doing all along but sometimes forgot about since the writer always seemed so self-sufficient.
Angelica toddled up to Alice and dragged her into the living room. The two once again started talking their own language as Angie showed off her toys. Dana followed behind and handed over the present for Alice to give to Angie. Angie ripped off the paper (with a little help from Alice) and was beyond excited to see the princesses.

Good to see Alice getting stronger…bit by bit. I loved the end of the story, Alice ‘initiating the make out’. (At least that’s how I interpreted it…a girl can dream, can’t she?)

okay now you’ve got me scared with your drama warning! And that rather cryptic line in the summary about the scene before the crime…lol I know what you meant unless you’re being crafty and trying to throw us off. But yeah, I love this, how cute. And Alice feeling Dana up is a good sign, no? It better be. Anyway, this comment makes little to no sense, and I can’t make myself care. Loved the update, hurry up and post again!
I like how Dana is so thoughtful with Alice, this, I think wasn’t shown much in the show. I can totally see Dana taking care of Alice tis way for real. Thanks Magoose, great story you have here.

Hello MaGoose, that was so so very sweet. You have such a strong grasp of this family… I love how innocent Alice becomes when she is with her “Earth Daughter” she just seems to melt away from all the pain and absorb her old sense of life. Dana is such a beautiful soul to hold Alice during this time… reflecting and just being so passionate about who she is and what she wants… and the fact that she is waiting for Alice is just perfect. I cannot wait to see where you go with this and well I cannot wait to see what else you have brewing in that creative soul of yours :wink: :wink: Sincerely, JC
