Am I falling in love with her?

SHANE’S CAR – LATE AFTERNOON

Shane is driving to the hospital. She stops by a small restaurant to get some food for Marina. She stops her truck in front of the restaurant.

Why am I buying her some food ? Am I not supposed now to hate her ? What ? I can’t hate Marina.. she has always been nice to me, it’s not her fault if I feel that strange about Jenny. Well all is in my imagination.. all of this is just part of my imagination. C’mon Shane!!

She gets out of her truck and gets in the restaurant. She order a “Club Sandwich” for Marina. Once the food ready, she leaves.

JENNY’S ROOM / HOSPITAL – IN THE MEAN TIME

The doctor same doctor that Shane attacked gets in the room. Marina gets up from her chair and goes towards him.

Doctor : Hi miss.. ?

Marina : Ferrer. Hum.. Marina Ferrer.

Doctor : I’m doctor Holden.

They shake hands.

Marina : Before anything, I want to tell you who I am sorry for my friend behaviour.

Doctor : It’s okay miss, I think I’ve got more scared than hurt.

Marina smiles.

Marina : So.. do you have the tests results ?

Doctor : Hum.. yes.

Marina : And ?

Doctor : Do you mind if we sit ?

Marina (suspicious) : No.

They sit.

Marina : It looks kinda serious.

Doctor : It is.

Marina : How serious ?

Doctor : Very.

Marina : Mmmm kay.

Marina looks at him straight in the eyes.

Marina : Come on.. I have to know.

Doctor : Okay Well it’s a brain tumour.

Marina is stunned.

Doctor : You have to know that we are now searching for something to treat her.

(moment)

Marina : How.. (her eyes are filled of water) How big is it ?

Doctor : Major.

Marina : (tears are falling on her cheeks) How long does she have ?

Doctor : Miss, you have to know that

Marina : How long ?.. Please..

Doctor : We don’t know yet.

Marina : Any approximation ?

Doctor : Not more than three months.

Marina : And the treatments ?

Doctor : We are still searching, but at this point.. it’s very hard.

Marina : Will she come back from coma ?

Doctor : We don’t know, chances are little.

Marina : Thank you.

She goes by the window.

Doctor : Miss, you have to know that we will

Marina : Thank you doctor. (firm)

The doctor goes towards the door and gets hit by the opening door when Shane is entering in the room.

Shane : What’s going on here ?

She looks at the doctor.

Shane : You!!

She goes by him.

Marina : SHANE!!

Shane stops and looks at Marina.

Marina : Shane, please, come here.

Shane looks at the doctor then at Marina, and at the doctor again.

Marina : Please.

Shane goes to see Marina, not without give a “look” at the doctor.

Shane : What are the news ?

Marina : (eyes full of tears) Bad.

Shane : How bad ?

Marina : Very bad.

Shane : You mean ?

Marina : (looking by the window, crying) It’s a brain tumour.

Shane is completely stunned, mouth wide open, unable to say a word,.. her eyes become full of tears, her head is doing a “no” sign. She sit on the floor, crying.

Shane : No it can’t no!!

Why?? Why this is happening now! Now that I just realise that I feel more than friendship for her. For one of the first time, except Carmen, I feel that pain in my heart, when I think of her, and now it’s not because she’s here in an hospital, on a bed suffering of a brain tumour. My friend, no it’s more than that.. well.. whatever.. she’s dying and there’s nothing I can do.., nothing. I wish I can just tell her all that truth.. all the truth.. I’m that truth that I’m no.. no you’re not yes.. no.. yes I’m.. I’m.. I’m .. yes.. I’m in love with her.. I want to tell her.

If I can have just one wish I wish I could be able to tell her that I love her.
