Kate was helping Dana into bed, as Sharon was showing the Liz the Nurses Aide Dana had hired to the guest bedroom. Dana could tell by Kate’s body language that even though she was trying to play the dutiful girlfriend, all she really wanted was to get out as fast as she could. Dana was starting to notice a pattern not only with Kate but also with many of her new “so called” friends. That was as long as it was fun or they were hanging with the right crowd or at the right club she could not peel her friends off her. However, something as simple as visiting you while you were sick, well then nobody had the time. Sure, she received flowers, tons and tons of flowers, but none of them had time to just stay and visit.

She remembered back to the time that Tina broke her leg skiing, how you couldn’t keep Alice, Shane or herself away from Bette’s and Tina’s home. Everyone knew she could not get around for a couple of weeks, so they decided to go to her. They could not imagine not seeing Tina for more then a couple of days. Bette even joked about moving three cots into the guest room so they could just spend the night. Moreover, even though they were not doing anything Dana still thinks back to that time, and how much fun it was. They sat around, talked, laughed, and just enjoyed each other’s company for hours some nights.

Of course, a lot of that was because of Alice. At first, Alice nagged her and Shane how they could not let Tina sit at home looking at her cast all day. That she needed her daily “what would you do if” or she would get all sad and depressed. Even though she and Shane thought, they would be putting Bette and Tina out by coming over, it turned out that Alice was right and Tina seemed to look forward to their silliness every night.

Well Dana wanted her silliness. She was hurt at first when the old gang did not come over to her parent’s house to see her. Then she remembered she had not done anything for any of them for a while. She even excused herself from the events involving Angelica at the time thinking how totally boring all that was. Well here she was wondering why her new friends did not have time for her and suddenly it hit her, she was now what was considered totally boring to her new friends.
