Dana’s Choice chapter 7
THE PLANET AFTER ALICE’S AND DANA’S RETURN
The whole gang was sitting around the table talking to Alice about how proud they were of Dana. They kept looking toward the door hoping Dana would hurry and arrive so they could give her a hard time and congratulate her about her good job.
A young man walked over to the gangs table and asked if an Alice Pieszecki was there. They all pointed over to Alice. He then pulled out a small arrangement of wild flowers with a simple bow and note attached. Alice knew who the flower were from because she remembered a conversation she had with Dana several years ago, back when they were just friends and Dana was still living at home. Alice had a boyfriend who she just couldn’t shake. He was consistently sending flower and gifts to Alice trying to win her love. After about the tenth time that he sent roses to Alice, she had made the comment to Dana that flowers that he had picked himself would have made more of an impression on her then flowers from a high priced florist.
Alice could tell by looking at the flowers that Dana had picked them herself. She recognized them as the flower that were growing around her condominium.
When she open the note Dana had written. “Thank you. Forgive me. Love Dana”
ALICE’S APARTMENT LATER THAT DAY
Dana never did show up at the Planet that morning, she did call all her friends except for Alice and explaned that she had something special planed for Alice, and she was running around in preperations for Alice so she was unable to make it for coffee.
When Alice arrived back to her apartment she had her keys in one hand and the flowers Dana gave her in a glass taken from the Planet in the other. She wondered were Dana might have been that morning, and when she tried to call to thank her for the flowers all she got was Dana’s voicemail. When she finely entered in to her apartments she couldn’t help but smile realizing some of what Dana had been up to that morning.
Everywere Alice looked there were small arrangements of wild flowers, over by her computer on her desk, on the coffee table. When she went in to the kitchen there was an arragement on the dining room table and by the sink. She laughed at Dana silliness when she noticed one arrangement in the bathroom tied onto the Elvis rubber duck with a note that said. “Love me tender, I’m just a hunka hanka burning love”
