The landing party reconvened in Piaseki and Williams’s suite. Captain Porter strode to the head of the table and everyone took a seat. 

“Report” she said glancing first at Williams. 

Ensign Tasha Williams efficiently related the relevant facts her chocolate skin was flawless reminding Captain Porter of that tasty treat on earth.  She had no desire to go any further with that thought her body was content though she did become aware that they had missed the evening meal being otherwise distracted. 

“The Challenge is pretty straightforward Captain.  There are three tests – one of wit and strategy, one of skill and one of honor.  The tests will be held in the arena where the homebound ceremony was held earlier today.  The test of wit and strategy is a maze Captain.  The first contestant to find their way to the exit to the arena is the victor of this contest. 

The second contest is one of skill.  You will each lead a team of four of your own choosing to reach the Princess who will be in real danger of overexposure to gammatriox rays if she is not rescued within thirty minutes of exposure.  These rays are relatively harmless if the majority of the body is covered and exposure less than the allotted time.

The third test of honor is unknown Captain there are no records of the content of this test.”

“Thank you, Ensign.”  Bette nodded then turned her attention to Dr. Piaseki. 

“Doctor?”

“Antarians are humanoid with a slightly lower body weight than your typical human due to the lighter gravity of the home planet.  Red blood and similar organ structure to humans.  Should you need to engage in physical combat you will be more evenly matched than if you faced a terran male.”

“Ok, the team will be First Officer Kennard, Ensigns Williams, Sutra and Clark.  Porter to Enterprise” she flipped open her communicator.

“McCucheon here.”

“Shane, do we still have that handy little toy that we liberated from the Romulans some decades back?”

“Aye Captain.”  She wondered what the Captain’s plan was.

“I want you to cloak the Enterprise and bring her in close.  Any sign of trouble follow us until I signal you.”
