Daughters of Kirk and Spock Post 25

Elizabeth’s stomach clenched as Tu Puedes carried Christina to the resting mat and lay her down.  She checked her pulse and found it strong but too rapid.  She touched her face in the positions of the mind meld and as much as she wished to object knew she could not.

“What’s wrong?” The anxiety in her voice was clear.

“Her pulse is elevated I need to help her regulate her heart beat it is too fast.”  Tu Puedes responded to Elizabeth’s surprise.

Tu Puedes had slipped into the highest levels of Christina’s consciousness and Christina had forced her to answer the anxiety she heard in Elizabeth’s voice.

You care for this human that much?  They could speak freely here.

Mothers of Daughters, I do. Christina answered surprising them both with her true response.

Relax Christina.  Your heart beats too fast.  The cold of Kohlinar must be thawed carefully.

Should it be thawed at all?

What are you saying?  Puedes grew still within the mind meld.

More than the need for love to flee her must have compelled me.

Perhaps the fact that you love her caused you to flee. Puedes reframed the statement. How came you to be melded?  You were as satisfied as I when we parted.  My touch should have kept you clear for six more years.

I touched her and she broke my mating bond.  The memory came searing back threatening to set them both aflame.  In self-preservation Tu Puedes pulled away.

Elizabeth did not need the Vulcan mind meld to see that the two were becoming aroused.  Christina arched and her heart broke.  She turned and went out into the cold dark night.

She wrapped herself in a blanket and marveled at the desert night sky ablaze with stars.  Her conversation with Dr. Pieaseki floated in her mind. She had not intended to tell Alice all of it but she did. She told her of their melding and the amazing connection she had not known was possible with another being.  She felt empty and cold.  It was better to never have loved at all she determined.  How would she deal with the magnitude of her loss?  There was none who could fill the space that was created by Christina.
